Monday Coffee Talk July 20th

 Monday - Monday - Monday

You come around too soon!

Tammy and Bo are home from their 10day road trip!! They visited several universities, botanical garden in Alabama and Tammy finally got her wish to put her feet in the Atlantic Ocean!

She also came with gifts! Love that girl. They stopped at a roadside market in one of the Carolina's - and she found some Mayhaw jelly, which I love and it can't be bought in any grocery stores I know of. She alsp brought some Apple Cinnamon Pecan jam. Apple Cinnamon is another of my favorites which is hard to find in a store.

Needless to say - it was so good!

I enjoyed every bite.😊

Peggy & Hank also came for a visit and she helped Mr D do some things on his laptop. Both of them are so tech savvy.

We used our gift card to enjoy a Mariska Bowl from Gringo's. It's one of our favorites on their menu.

Mr D had another eye treatment on the 15th, he thinks it's really helping.

I just started a new book series, The AD Chronicles, by Bodie and Brock Thoene. I've read other series by these authors and enjoyed them.

Todays Word: Colorful

Left over beads from all my diamond art projects.

I keep them in this large jar. I don't have a clue how I might use them in the future. For now, I'm having fun watching the jar slowing filling up.

Until Next Time

Have thine own way, Lord, have thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay
Mold me and make me after thy will
While I am waiting, yielded and still

Today's Word: animal/insect

My photo today was taken a few years ago by Tammy. She had just arrived at the house when she noticed a hawk perched on the street light.  At the time we had Bitsy Baby and Buddy Boy and I was always alert to hawks flying around because they are famous for diving at little creatures.

Another photo of Tammy while she was on a mission trip to Africa.

My girl so far from home and loving on an elephant! WoW

December 11, 2025

Today’s scriptures are some of my favorites. To know that Elizabeth’s baby responded to Mary as she carried the Christ Child is amazing.

Luke 1:39-45

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39 Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, 40 and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 Blessed is she who [a]believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

Upon Mary's greeting, Elizabeth's baby (John the Baptist) leaps in her womb, symbolizing the recognition of Jesus' divine presence even before birth. Elizabeth praises Mary, declaring her blessed for believing in God's promise, which underscores the theme of faith leading to divine favor. It highlights the joy and recognition of God's presence in both women, emphasizing their faith and the miraculous nature of their pregnancies.

Tammy's been at her craft table making Christmas pretties galore!

She gifted me with these trees that I love.
She has her Grandma and Granny's old buttons which she used as the tree toppers.

Alphabet letters in the making for her precious grand, sweet Adalyn♥

Tammy's grands, Adalyn & Merica, enjoying a great sleepover at Grammy's house.

Tammy's Cookie Day

It's beginning to look like Cookie Day!

Cookies, Cookies everywhere!

First on her list is Brown Sugar Chews.  These delicious cookies are a tradition and expected every year.

She'll be using her granny's old sifter and her great great grandmother's rolling pin.  Surely this will make the cookies taste better.  Don't be alarmed, all that butter doesn't go in one cookie, she has several recipes she's going to make today.  Getting prepared for her grands to come tomorrow to do the decorating!

Browns Sugar Chews ready for the oven.

Out of the oven!

Give me one!!

The kids won't be decorating these, but there's more cookies coming!

I don't know how many dozen she made, but I'm sure it was enough!

She even managed to bake a loaf of banana bread! Mr D and I were so happy that she brought us some and a few brown sugar chews too.

Tammy's grands and some friends enjoying Cookie Day!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Until Next Time

It Just Happened That Way

Some years ago I purchased The Purpose of Christmas by Rick Warren because I was looking for something to read at our family Christmas party.  I just needed a paragraph or two and I found some good ones in this book. The next year I purchased another Christmas book, only because it caught my eye while I was out shopping.  The year after that I thought, I'm going to purchase another Christmas book because I enjoy them so much.  It's then I realized I had started a tradition!

It Just Happened That Way!

I was so delighted this morning when I received this year's book, The Gift of Jesus by Charles Stanley.

The timing is perfect, being the week of Christmas is the right time to read and study about the best Gift of all.

Chapter One - A Journey of Love

Page 3 - Paragraph 2

This is why it is so important to reflect on God's greatest gift to us - the gift of Himself.  You see, I think at times the reason we grow weary and hopeless is because we're so focused on our circumstances that we've forgotten to fix our eyes on Jesus Himself.  We need more that a quick quiet time; rather, our souls yearn to experience His presence and worship Him in the fullness of who He is.

AND.....

Mr. D came home from the store with a pretty poinsettia.

Tammy just stopped by and gifted me with this beautiful Christmas reindeer.  That girl has such a sweet heart.

He is so pretty, he needs a special place to be . . . I'm going to have to see what I can do.

Hark the Herald let us sing,
Praises to the newborn King!
