Whatever God says do ~ do it.
You don't need perfect circumstances to be a woman who says yes to God. You don't need the perfect religious attitude or all the answers to religious questions. You simply have to surrender all that's clamoring for attention in your heart with the answer God is longing to hear spill from your lips, "Yes, God."
God wants us to live in expectation of hearing from Him.
Everyday God speaks to us. He invites us to draw close and listen as He reveals Himself, His character and His direction. Other times He calls us to participate in His purposes. Still other times He simply whispers to remind us of His amazing love for us.
You might ask, "How do I know if God is speaking to me? How do I discern whether it is His voice speaking or just my own idea? What if I feel God is telling me to do something that doesn't seem to make sense?"
There is no magic formula for being able to discern God's voice. We can learn to recognize it the way we recognize the voices of those close to us: by knowing Him. And when we know Him, we can tell if what we're feeling led to do is from Him or not.
Ask yourself:
1. Does what I'm hearing line up with Scripture?
2. Is it consistent with God's character?
3. Is it being confirmed through messages I'm hearing at church or studying in my quiet time.
4. Is it beyond me?
5. Would it please God?
Use this 5 question filter as a starting place in your conversations with God. In Jeremiah 29:13 God promises, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

I love my conversations with the Lord. I have asked myself the same questions mentioned above, so many times. Many times during my quiets moments with the Lord I can feel Him with me, I know it's Him...you just know that you know. I can't explain it any other way! Other times it seems He's being elusive...but I know that can't be for our God is always with us. I think those are the times He's wanting more from me or preparing me for more. I have found my self being very impatient when He does that...C'mon God...tell me something! Most of the time when I get to that point I am reminded of Psalms 37:7 ~ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him. It's important that we make time for quiet moments with Him everyday.
He waits for us,
He's expecting us,
He's inviting us,
He loves us.
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
Jeremiah 33:3
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Romans 8:16

Now you know why my special word for the year is...
Patience!
