My back porch is my sanctuary, I love to be out there where I can hear the birds, see the clouds, enjoy my flowers and spend time with the Lord. The days are hot now so my time outside is limited, a little while in the morning and again in the late afternoon.

Wee little flower asleep in a seed.
You want to sprout but first you need..
a bit of dirt
some sun
a song
a sprinkled drink
it won't be long.

I'm here to help you as you grow.
I'll shelter you from wind and snow.
I can't wait until you show your face.
Oh My, Hello!

Isn't this orange hibiscus pretty? It's yellow but called orange because of it's orange center.  If you look close at the one on the right, you will see it's trying to make a flower within a flower.  Fascinating!

Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day -
like writing a poem or saying a prayer.

This is a recycled candle sconce.  I wasn't using it in the house anymore so I removed the candle and hung it on the porch to hold one of my ivies.

This is my garden, I'll plant it with care.
Here are the seeds I'll plant there.
The sun will shine, the rain will fall.
The seeds will sprout and grow up tall.

Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done...
Psalm 40:5

Our porch is very small and the plants have grown so much there's barely enough room for Mr D and I.
Solution ~ Mr D needs to enlarge the porch.  ))smiles))

Until Next Time

  1. Good morning dearest Mary! Oh...how I enjoy my visits with you! I always leave your little place feeling reshred:) I love your porch, and your garden is absolutely delightful... Our Lord gave us such beauty to enjoy, and I believe it makes His heart happy to see His children enjoying quiet moments in His glorious creation! I love sitting outside having 'tea with Jesus' and smiling at the sound of the birdsong and the sight of the blooming flowers...
Have a very blessed day, dear Mary! I must go hang some washing on the line now...I have a feeling there will be some rainy days quite soon, so best I make sure there are clean clothes in the closets...:)
    Love and hugs!

  3. I always enjoy my visits with you, dear Mary, your porch is so inviting, it doesn't matter that it's small. Mine is only 12 by 12. I love porch sitting and admiring God's creation and thankful for each moment spent with it. Your flowers are so lovely and your sconce looks right at home there.
Have a great weekend celebrating the 4th!
