Jesus, keep me near the
cross,
there a precious fountain,
free to all, a healing stream,
flows from Calvary's mountain.
there a precious fountain,
free to all, a healing stream,
flows from Calvary's mountain.
In the cross, in the cross,
be my glory ever;
'til my raptured soul shall find,
rest beyond the river.
be my glory ever;
'til my raptured soul shall find,
rest beyond the river.
Before the foundation of the world was laid, God, in His divine sovereignty, planned to send His own Son to the cross to be our Savior.
Ann Graham Lotz
All heaven is interested in the cross of Christ, all hell is terribly afraid of it, while men are the only beings who more or less ignore its meaning. In our day, some preachers rarely if ever preach about the cross. Taking the cross out of our preaching is like taking heat out of fire, melody out of music, numbers out of mathematics, fact out of history, mind out of metaphysics, and words out of vocabularies.
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. "
Galatians 2:20
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. "
Galatians 2:20
We must always remember the glorious Cross!

I have heard that some hymnals are taking out songs which contain the word "blood". What a shame!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. We have to remember the cross. One of my favorite old hymns..."The Old Rugged Cross". Says it all!
ReplyDelete"At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the Light and the burden of my heart rolled away. It was there by faith I received my sight and now I am happy all the day!" That's the first thing that came to mind whenI read this!! Great reminder, my Friend. HOPE you had a great weekend.
