I was thumbing through my Bible when I saw these 2 scriptures were highlited, Colossians 1:17 and 3:17. I sure don't remember when I did that, but I do remember a Max Lucado Study on Colossians. So I dug around until I found the study booklet and began to thumb through it too!
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
Colossians 1:17
As a reflection it ask that we imagine having a dinner party and inviting eight people, living or dead, great or obscure, and then tell why we would invite these particular people.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
I'm big on numbers and the fact that both of those are from verses "17", I had to look it up. The number 17 in scripture stands for VICTORY, Ms. Mary. VICTORY in JESUS!!! Isn't that awesome?!?!? As for my 8....I'm gonna have to ponder on that one, but of course JESUS would be #1!!! Thanks for this great post! Love you bunches!
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. I thought right away of inviting an old friend of mine, Ricky, and intercessor from a church I attended long ago. He passed several years back, but Ricky was one of a kind, a man of prayer, and so bright, honest, and realistic. He was a hippie from that era, a Jesus People kind of person.
ReplyDeleteWell, as I was reading your list, I decided I would love to meet the two GGGrandparents and your other guests could also easily be on my list. Please just set another place at the table for me, too!! As for Debbie's comment....Victory in Jesus is definitely awesome!!
ReplyDeleteSomething to ponder. Yes, Jesus would be first, then my parents, and children and grandchildren. oops that's more than 8, oh well just pull up another table. And I wouldn't want to forget YOU!
ReplyDeleteHave a Great Day,
Sylvia
