A wonderful day!
Yesterday was the GLOW Ladies Christmas Party.
Such a great time with great friends.
This is a very diverse group of women. First of all, our friendship goes from childhood friends for a few....35-40 year friendship for a few....and new friendship for a few! We are Baptist, that's me, or as I've been dubbed ~ Bapticostal! We are Methodist, Assembly of God and Catholic and yet we come together to praise the ONE God of us all.......
A day of Praise and Gifts and Fellow Sistership and....
FOOD!!
Yep, not only do we love the Lord and each other,
we love to eat !!
And then there are those of us who love to preach...just sayin'.
Our hostess with the mostess, Pat, she's really preaching about something!!...
and then there's me!!
Pat is so sweet and quiet, well most of the time, not so much for me...I'm a talker! lol
We talked and laughed
We talked some more and ate, ate, ate..
We talked and snapped pictures!
(This is Zee and I taking pictures of each other)

We were still talking as we opened gifts..
But at Praise Time, all was quiet as I read...
The Purpose of Christmas
(Taken from The Purpose of Christmas by Rick Warren)
You may have never realized that every time you check your calendar or refer to a date or write one down, you are using Jesus Christ as your reference point. Because of Jesus, history is divided into BC (before Christ) and AD (anno Domini, in the year of our Lord). Every other event in history and every event on your calendar today is dated by how many days and years it has been since Jesus Christ appeared on earth. Even your birthday is dated by His birthday.
Today we are recognizing His birthday by singing to Him, praising Him, and exchanging gifts for His special day. But the gift He gave us is like the star on top of the tree. It is a gift that has three qualities. First, it is the most expensive gift you'll ever receive. It's priceless. Jesus paid for it with His life. Second, it's the only gift you'll ever receive that will last forever. Finally, it is an extremely practical gift ~ one you'll use every day for the rest of your life. What is that gift? Salvation by the death of Christ on the cross, to die he had to be born....
Until Next Time
Praising My Savior All The Day Long...
GLOW
God Loves Older Women
God loves older women. I love that. :) What is the age cut off for a group like this? I think it may be out of my reach, for now, but I will get there one day.
ReplyDeleteThere really isn't an official age to be in GLOW. We are just a group of old friends(most of us worked together for many years), that got together for lunch last January. We started having lunch once a week and eventually GLOW was born! A few new ladies have joined along the way. We all enjoy it so much.
DeleteYou have a nice group of friends. Isnt it nice to come together and celebrate the birth of the Lord. Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteIt's very nice Lady Jane! Merry Christmas to you!
