I love to laugh!
Laughing is so much fun!
I also love this story by Barbara Johnson, from a wonderful little book, Laughter & Latte.
Do Your Best,
Laugh at the Rest
My philosophy is that we should just do our best ~ and laugh at the rest. We have to keep things in perspective. Sure we may be fat, ugly, and have the fashion sense of Phyllis Diller, but as long as our sense of humor is visible, we'll manage the rest.
Anyway, how did those single-digit sizes become all the rage? Beauty seemed a lot more realistic ~ and attainable ~ when terms like voluptuous and simple were more common than the dreaded words lean and firm.
For many of us, it's quite comforting to remember that Marilyn Monroe wore a size 12 and that even though there are a handful of supermodels who wear a size 8, there are three billion women on the planet who don't !

ReplyDeleteOh how I love this post!! You really made me chuckle. Yes indeed, times have changed. I know for a fact that lean and firm does not necessarily mean healthy, by the way. Laughter really is the best medicine!!
ReplyDeleteYes! Very good to hear that. Too many young women are suffering from anorexia trying to be thin and model-like.
ReplyDeleteWell I've just laughed! Love this post! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
