Monday Morning Coffee Chat

Hope you're enjoying your Memorial Day.
Mr D and I have no plans, just a quiet day at home.

We're having coffee on the porch, but we won't stay out here long, it's just too hot, especially if you're drinking hot coffee!!  We'll let the dogbabies play a little while then back into the cool house.

Enjoyed a nice time at Travis' graduation party Saturday night.  A lot of family and friends were there and it was  good to see friends we haven't seen in a while.  They catered in Mexican food ~ fajitas with all the trimmings. Scott also had some ribs on the grill and Tracey cooked a big pot of red beans.  That girl can cook some good beans........ and there was CHEESECAKE!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love cheesecake?...!!

I'm excited to be starting a new
Love God Greatly Bible Study
with the MeadowCrest ladies.

We'll be studying
David, His Story is Our Story
 It starts next Monday,
I've got my Study Journal and I'm ready to go!

You might remember when I hurt my right hand earlier in the year.  It's still not completely healed but finally well enough for some cross-stitching!  I was so excited when I picked up my stitching and was able to sew without pain.  My fingers are still a little stiff, but the pain is gone.  I'm thankful!

Going to get the coloring books back out too!!

Memorial Day Tribute
They answered their country's call to arms,
into battle they did go.
Where their final destination was,
No one will ever know.
May their final resting place,
Under some unknown sod,
Be forever hallowed,
For it is known only unto God!

Dear Heavenly Father,

On this day of remembrance for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Please hold our servicemen and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and your presence as they stand in the gap for our protection.  We also remember the families of our troops. We ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes, and we pray your peace, provision, hope, and strength will fill their lives.  May the members of our armed forces be supplied with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray,
Amen.

Until Next Time
Greater love has no one than this,
that one lay down his life for his friends
John 15:13

  4. That was so beautiful, Mary. I really would like to post that prayer on Facebook. I make two cheesecakes at Christmas for our son's birthday. It is his favorite.
