Don't ever let yourself get so busy that you miss those little but important extras in life ~ the beauty of a day...the smile of a friend...the serenity of a quiet moment alone. For it is often life's smallest pleasures and gentlest joys that make the biggest and most lasting difference.
When I opened the door this morning to let the dogbabies out, I was blinded by these beautiful yellow hibiscus. The sun was hitting them just right and they were sparkling with the morning dew.
God has given us so much to enjoy.
It is the simple things of life that make living worthwhile, the sweet fundamental things such as love and duty, work and rest, and living close to nature.
Laura Ingalls Wilder
....And flowers in bloom...
....And flowers in bloom...
Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice!
Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!
Let the trees of the forest sing for joy
Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!
Let the trees of the forest sing for joy
Psalm 96:11-12
Flowers don't worry about how they are going to bloom.
They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful.

As I was typing the quote above, by Jim Carry, I was thinking...aren't we like the flowers?
We just need to turn toward the Light, our Light of Salvation, and become beautiful in the sight of the Lord.

You've got a green thumb, my Friend. Your flowers are beautiful! Love the analogies, too. I thought of you this week when I was contemplating moving the bird bath again and wondered if Mr. D might be available. 😊 HOPE you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletelol Deb....he might be available but it might take him a few tries to get it level !!! Have a wonderful day, and you be careful moving your birdbath.
DeleteBeautiful Mary. As usual, I always enjoy your posts and visiting here. I bet those Hibicus smell good, have a beautiful day friend.
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely photos and your background is beautiful! I do believe we are like the flowers? We just need to turn toward the Light, our Light of Salvation, and become beautiful in the sight of the Lord. Perfectly stated!
ReplyDeleteLove your thought at the end.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. Beautiful thoughts!
ReplyDeleteMary your flowers are lovely, especially the yellow hibiscus.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Mary! Oh how I wish I could grow flowers like that. I really like the yellow hibiscus. This all reminds me of that verse in Matthew about the lilies of the field. They don't have to do anything but grow as the Father intends. Have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove all your flowers Mary, have a blessed weekend...
ReplyDeleteI found you through foto frieday and glad I did so I could see your lovely blog.
