Keep On Fishing!

Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.

Luke 5:4

Jesus made this statement to fishermen who had already been out fishing all night but had caught nothing.  Peter wanted to argue (do you ever feel like Peter, I sure do) with Jesus, probably because he was tired and discouraged.

(I remember being tired and discouraged back when...raising 4 children, maintaining a household, and working outside the home too!!) 

Instead, he did what Jesus asked and the result was a catch of fish to big that they could barely pull in the nets.  Jesus blessed Peter beyond his wildest dreams...

(and He blessed me with 4 wonderful adult children, a smaller home to maintain and retirement! )

....because Peter believed Him and did what He asked.

Maybe you're tired and discouraged, too.  Is it hard to get up everyday and "keep dropping your nets into the water?"  Don't give up - you never know when Jesus is going to respond with a massive, wonderful blessings!

I will send down showers in season, there will be showers of blessings.

Ezekiel 34:26

There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.

There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
