Up Calvary’s mountain one dreadful morn
Walked Christ my Savior, weary and worn
Facing for sinners death on the cross
That He might save them from endless loss
Blessed Redeemer, precious Redeemer
Seems now I see Him on Calvary’s tree
Wounded and bleeding, for sinners pleading
Blind and unheeding, dying for me
“Father, forgive them, ” my Savior prayed
Even while His lifeblood flowed fast away
Praying for sinners while in such woe
No one but Jesus ever loved so
Dying for me
Oh how I love Him, Savior and friend
How can my praises ever find end
Through years unnumbered on Heaven’s shore
My songs shall praise Him forevermore
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
Blessings

ReplyDeleteOh, that song brought back such precious memories. My hubby and I used to sing that song together as a duet in our early years in the ministry. Such a blessing. Thank you for sharing it. Makes me want to sing it again. Such a powerful song. Blessed Redeemer...Precious Redeemer...Seems now I see Him on Calvary's Tree...wounded and bleeding...for sinners pleading, blind and unheeding, dying for me. Wow. Amen.
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love that old hymn. We occasionally will sing an old one at church interspersed in between the more current contemporary songs. I still get a blessing from the old ones, though, and they bring back such sweet memories of the little country church I was raised in. Thanks for the precious reminder, sweet Friend.
