I had a very peaceful weekend, just the way I like it!
Saturday was GLOW (God Loves Older Women) Day, I always enjoy time spent with this wonderful group of ladies. We went to Kelley's Home Cooking in Pasadena and enjoyed a good lunch and great sistership. Meeting with these ladies is so uplifting, certainly time well spent.
Finally got to the store for some pumpkin spice English muffins and Philadelphia pumpkin spice cream cheese.
It was so good with my coffee this morning. You can bet I'll have another one with my afternoon coffee!

Sorry to say I didn't go to church yesterday. Some mornings are hard and by the time I take my breathing treatment, which leaves me shaky, I really don't feel like doing anything or going anywhere until later in the day.
I do watch several ministries on television. There are so many that I like.
Robert Morris - The Blessed Live
Pastor of Gateway Church, Dallas, Texas
John Hagee
Pastor of Cornerstone Church, San Antonio, Texas
Ed Young - The Winning Walk
Second Baptist Church, Houston, Texas
David Jeremiah - Turning Point Ministries
Pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church, a Southern Baptist Church in El Cajon, California
And I never tire of Adrian Rodgers - Love Worth Finding Ministries
Adrian Rogers served three terms as president of the Southern Baptist Convention . He was also a Southern Baptist pastor whose church services aired on television, and a conservative author. He passed away in 2005, his sermons are still televised today.
October Trivia
October has 31 days and the birth stones associated with this month are pink tourmaline and opal. The month's flower is the calendula, and its zodiac signs are Libra and Scorpio. Some other important events that occurred in October include the launching of Sputnik 1 by the Russians in 1957, the Great Chicago Fire in 1871, the beheading of Marie Antoinette in 1793 and the landing of the Mayflower at Plymouth Rock in 1620. In baseball, the World Series usually takes place in this month as well.
Around Town
From our local newspaper.
I've seen other work by this hometown artist, she is really amazing. For those of you who aren't football fans, that is J.J. Watt who plays for the Houston Texans.
Family
The great grands had a great time visiting the pumpkin patch yesterday afternoon. These three little ones bring so much pleasure to our lives.
Today's Word
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:16
Thank God today for the blessing of His Word in your life. And renew your commitment to meditating on it day and night.
The truly wise man is he who always believes the Bible against the opinion of any man.

Until Next Time
Your great grands are so cute! That chainsaw statue is awesome! I enjoy hearing David Jeremiah.
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture Miss Mary of those sweet babies! Nothing like them! And yes I would very much like one of those muffins with cream cheese! I can lick cream off my finger and be happy. LOL! I love me some John Hagee and David Jeremiah! I hope that you have a great and well week Miss Mary. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOh I was so shocked to read about the passing of Adrian Rogers! Only recently I found his televised sermons and thought he was more like the preachers I had heard in my younger years; not just "feel good" words but words from God. Thank the Lord his sermons have been preserved and made available to us today.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon, dear friend! I enjoyed reading your post today!! Your hometown artist is very talented and those kiddos are adorable!! Thanks for lifting me up!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post! Love the sweet pic of the girls. I remember the sputnik! Your muffin looks delcious!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Miss Mary, I love that lamp with the pumpkin inside!
ReplyDeleteYou are glowing in your photo, so glow must be doing you good.
The photo of the grand kids is precious.
Keeping you in prayers for your breathing.
Sorry your breathing treatments leave you shaky and keep you from attending church but isn't it great that there are so many Christian speakers to choose from on TV? We are so fortunate. My DH is hard of hearing and close captions is the only way he can "hear" what's being said.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of you with your GLOW sisters in Christ. The muffin with cream cheese makes me hungry! I bet that is a delicious treat. Oh, your great grands are adorable. That is a precious photo. We are blessed that our Pastor's sermons are streamed live over the internet each Sun. (Dr. Tom Smiley @ Lakewood Baptist). I hope you will enjoy a nice day.
