Seems like I'm always a day late and a dollar short!
1. In Monday’s post I mentioned I would incorporate the word I was given for letter K into this week’s questions. That word was karaoke. On a scale of 1-10 how excited would you be to find out there was karaoke happening at your next gathering/outing with friends? 10=gimme that microphone!, and 1=I suddenly remembered there’s somewhere else I need to be. Have you ever actually done karaoke? If you had to perform karaoke what would be your ‘go-to’song?
There is no doubt on this one, there would definitely be somewhere else I need to be. No, I've never done karaoke although it looks like fun. Just be sure to know I would not perform karaoke but if by some weird circumstance I did, it would be. . .
The sun will come out
Come what may
Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
You're always a day away
When I'm stuck in a day
Tomorrow!
You're always
The sun will come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrowCome what may
Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love yaTomorrow!
You're always a day away
When I'm stuck in a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh
Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love yaTomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!
2. How do you listen to music these days? Favorite app or do you listen the old fashioned way? Do you have music playing often in your home? Is there still a CD player in your car?
I'm an old fashioned gal and listen the old fashioned way.
Because Mr D is a musician there has always been music in our home and yes, there is a CD player in our car.
3. The HP lands on US tax day this year. Or what used to be tax day before everything including filing your taxes was cancelled, delayed, postponed or extended. FYI- filing your taxes has not been cancelled, only delayed for a bit.
Besides staying away from anyone and everyone, what have you found taxing lately?
It's very taxing not being able to be around my family, especially the grands. The videos have been wonderful but sure doesn't take the place of touching and hugging.
4. You’re without power so no oven, and you can’t open your frig or freezer in order to keep what’s in there from spoiling. And you don’t have access to take out. What will you make us for dinner?
First of all my oven is gas so being without power would not be a problem for me. If it was electric and we had no power you would probably get Vienna sausage and crackers!
5. I’ve seen this exercise going around Facebook and thought it would be a good one to include in the HP...what are five things everybody seems to love and go crazy for that you personally don’t care for?
Bible apps being used in church instead of a Bible.
Texting instead of calling.
Traditional hymns aren't sung in church anymore.
Putting too much personal info in cell phones.
Music concerts.
While keeping up with her young children, Ruth Graham left her Bible open all day and each time she walked past it, she read a little more. When I'm troubled, I find scriptures that will help me through my situation, write them on index cards and leave them on my desk where I can see them everyday.
Until Next Time
Your random thought is a very good idea. I really like that.
ReplyDeleteI am one of those who use a Bible App and I really love it, however, sometimes I miss being able to write a note in my Bible. I agree on the Hymns though...I do love them. I'm blessed though because that is mostly what we sing at our church still.
Hope you have a good day Mary!
I think everyone at my church uses a Bible app, and that's okay. I just prefer the feel of my Bible in my hand and I'm always putting notes in my margins.
DeleteI remember reading that about Ruth Graham. She was such an inspiration to me!
ReplyDeleteWhat an upbeat, timely song!
ReplyDeleteLet's hear it for traditional hymns! I love practically everything about our LITTLE church, but the music. We no longer have an organist/pianist, and most of the newer hymns Pastor Janet's husband chooses aren't those easy to sing.
My hubby's a musician as well, but no longer performs outside the living room. :)
I enjoyed your post! Yes, that is a great song! Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your answers to #5 so much. We need to open our Bibles and know how to find God's Word that is written there for us. And we need to remember and sing the old hymns of the faith...they are so special and filled with truth. I am also trying to make more phone calls these days instead of just texting or facebooking. It's one way to hear a human voice during these days of missing our friends/family. Love your thoughts about Ruth Graham. She was a true woman of God, and she knew how to connect with Her Savior. Wonderful lesson. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteI am doing a Bible study that will go through the whole Bible in a year and it started in Feb. We just finished Numbers. I also Bible journal and it keeps me in the Word daily. So important! Love the colors in here!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great song you picked. I still play CD's. Yes it is hard not being able to be close to family members. Sadly I just had to watch my father's funeral service being streamed live. It still doesn't seem real to me. That's what my husband said about our gas stove. I never thought of that but people should be reading/using their own Bible, not an app. I'm guilty of texting more than calling. I love your random thought. Take care and stay well.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry, but I use my Bible app too and so do most in our Sunday School class. I use my "real" Bible at home for my evening reading though so maybe you will give me a pass! I also prefer the older hymns and miss them. Stay well!!
