Monday Musings

I am reading another good book!  It's a facinating story of survival and love with some meaness thrown in.  Some of the characters were disappointing in the their actions during tragedy, I'm hoping they redeem themselves as the story continues.

A deeply moving story of carrying on even when it seems impossible.

Life is over in an instant for sixteen-year-old Finn Miller when a devastating car accident tumbles her and ten others over the side of a mountain. Suspended between worlds, she watches helplessly as those she loves struggle to survive.

Impossible choices are made, decisions that leave the survivors tormented with grief and regret. Unable to let go, Finn keeps vigil as they struggle to reclaim their shattered lives. Jack, her father, who seeks vengeance against the one person he can blame other than himself; her best friend, Mo, who bravely searches for the truth as the story of their survival is rewritten; her sister Chloe, who knows Finn lingers and yearns to join her; and her mother, Ann, who saved them all but is haunted by her decisions. Finn needs to move on, but how can she with her family still in pieces?

Heartrending yet ultimately redemptive, In an Instant is a story about the power of love, the meaning of family, and carrying on…even when it seems impossible.

I have a new jigsaw puzzle on my board. Putting puzzles together is a great way to pass time. I usually work on them late in the afternoon into early evening.  I don't  know why but that time of day I get a little antsy, so I make me a pot of coffee and sit down to try and make the pieces comes together.

I love it when Tammy and Bo have left-overs because they share with us!

Bo cooked a pot of red beans and they were delicious!  We usually have cornbread with our beans but this day we had to settle for bread and butter.

We enjoyed every bite!

I received a letter from the hospital that I have qualified for the covid vaccine and to call them for an appointment.  I will be doing that this week.  I've given it a lot of thought and I think that's the best course of action for me.  The sooner the better.

It's been a while since I've shared a picture of Ava and Emma.  Seems the new babies are taking the spotlight these days. The older girls are busy doing their own thing, not always around when the comera comes out.

With Merica away visiting her other granny, the girls are spending time with Tammy and Bo.  Tammy took some great pics,  I'm sharing one of favorites!

Until Next Time

  1. That book sounds like a good one! Dinner you don't have to cook is always wonderful. I'm glad you are able to get the vaccine. I think it should be a personal choice. My only concern is with how fast it was developed so I'm praying about its safety for everyone. Have a blessed week, Mary.

  2. Sounds like a good book Miss Mary. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that puzzle. I have never been one with enough patience to put a puzzle together. However, I have two SIL and several grands that love puzzles. I can remember my granny putting puzzles together and the ones she really liked she would frame them. I hope you have a great week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  3. That book does sound interesting! Great picture of the older youngsters! I am glad you decided to get the vaccine. We are happy we got the first one and look forward to getting the second and being much less susceptible to getting sick. We get the flu shot every year. We get the pneumonia shot when we are due. We got the shingles vaccine. It only makes sense to get the COVID vaccine. xo

  4. Oooh, that book sounds intriguing. I'm happy to hear you're eligible to get the vaccine; there's so much confusion and mis-information out there right now. Your granddaughters are beautiful!
