We didn't decorate as much as in years past. It's just me and Mr D, so I put out enough for our enjoyment. With the covid scare we don't entertain, so the decorations are just for us and we'll be spending Christmas Day with our daughters.
O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
Such pleasure do you bring me
For every year this Christmas tree
Brings to us such joy and glee
Oh Beautiful Star of Bethlehem
Shine upon us until the glory dawns.
Give us a light to guide the way
Unto the land of perfect day
Oh Beautiful Star of Bethlehem, shine on
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel Born is the King of Israel!
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer first appeared in 1939 when Montgomery Ward department store asked one of its copywriters, 34-year-old Robert L. May, to create a Christmas story the store could give away to shoppers as a promotional gimmick.
The retailer had been buying and giving away coloring books for Christmas every year; and it was decided that creating its own book would save money. In the first year of publication, 2.4 million copies of Rudolph’s story were distributed by Montgomery Ward.
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am.
Of course there has to be a little Christmas in the kitchen, after all, we spend a lot of time there. :)
My dear friend, Pat, called this morning to let me know her nephew passed from Covid, as well as our mutual friend, Billie. My heart hurts, I am so ready for this ugly virus to go away.
My hope is in the Lord.
Romans 12:10-12
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
Until Next Time
We are all still dealing with so much sadness from this disease. Two years and going. It needs to end! I love your tree and your ornaments, Mary! Wishing you and yours a beautiful Christmas and a promising new year (please, God!).
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about the passing of your dear friends. Yes, what Terri said above. With Linda's son this past week, and Terri and Barbara's husbands, it's just been so very hard for so many of our friends and loved ones. yes, it's time for it to end. Praying hard. Love your beautiful tree and ornaments, and all the stories that go along with them. I guess I never knew about Rudolph coming from Montgomery Wards! That's a great story!! I hope that you and your family have a very blessed and beautiful Christmas. You have such a sweet group of grandbabies and children, etc. So blessed!!! Praise God!
ReplyDeleteI echo what Terri and Pamela said. I'm so sorry to hear about your friends. We found out Sunday that three people from church are sick with Covid. Two are on ventilators in the ICU and the third refuses to go to the hospital but has covid pneumonia. His daughter is our youth pastors wife and a nurse. She has been taking care of him and finally was able to get him on home oxygen. She hopes that will make a difference.
ReplyDeleteOur son Alex just told us tonight that both he and our DIL tested postive today. She's 5 months pregnant. They had both just had boosters on Sunday so I hope that helps a little. They are both so cautious and always wear masks and never take public transportation in London now. They either walk or he drives their car.
I do love your beautiful tree and other decorations.
Take care.
Blessings and love and lots of prayers,
Betsy
I'm sorry your dear ones are sick with Covid and some have died. It's such a difficult time and so full of sadness. It's hard to be joyful and yet we have to try. Be blessed, dear one.
