I was up just before sunrise and opened the blinds while I sat at the kitchen table enjoying my first cup of coffee. As is my routine I opened my laptop to the world of social media. I always check my emails first because I have several ministries that send me daily devotions which I read every morning and have my morning prayer, then I go to headline news where I read any articles that catch my interest, then on to Facebook to see what my friends and family are up to. I paused for a moment to take a sip of my coffee and noticed the sun was coming up, I love seeing the first rays eventho I know it's going to make a hot day.
My pause turned into a short break as I watched the neighborhood come alive. Cars passing and children walking to school, let the day begin!
This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
A new work-in-progress, seems I have a 'red thing' going on lately. . . I love RED!
Red stitches on the frame, this is such an easy piece. It won't take me long to finish.
I started this journal in January 2022 and it's just a few pages short of being full.
I should be ready for a new journal within the week . . . So. . . . I contacted my good friend Mr. Amazon and now have a new journal on stand by.
It's another thick one, it will be a year or two filling it up.
I watched the best old movie last weekend. I love old movies and this one was great. Only two characters for the entire movie, they did a great job of keeping it interesting, that alone amazed me.
Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison
Even though it was set in perilous times, the story line was a sweet story. Robert Mitchem and Deborah Kerr were excellent in their roles as Mr. Allison and Sister Angela.
The nun and the marine are stranded, but the island offers a bountiful supply of food.
However, their paradisiacal life ends when the Japanese arrive to build an outpost,
forcing "Mr." Allison and the nun to take refuge in a cave. The marine's expertise in such conditions proves to be vital to their survival, and the two grow ever closer. Over time, Allison falls in love with Sister Angela, but theirs is a relationship that is not
meant to be. Their situation soon changes when Japanese troops arrive, but Allison's presence proves essential when US forces prepare to take the island.
As I write this post, we are also living in perilous times. Try to keep your story sweet, and always remember, Heaven Knows You♥
Blessings to All
Until Next Time

DeleteI enjoyed this post so much! You are amazing to do the cross stitches. I cannot do them and always appreciate the talents and patience of those who can. That movie sounds like a good one. I've never heard of it. I may have to check it out. I hope things begin to cool down a bit where you are. This morning was only 73 degrees, which is a nice change from the way it has been this past month. Of course it is heating up, but not supposed to get above 88 today, which is like a cold front after what we've had! Maybe fall is coming early??? Probably not, but I will enjoy it while it lasts. Take care my friend.
ReplyDelete73* sounds good to me, it was 80* here before the sun came up. Yes, early fall, I would sure go for that, don't think it's gonna happen.
DeleteGood morning Mary. It was nice to read about your morning routine and imagine us both on our laptops catching up with the world, all while enjoying seeing what the Lord has in store for our day.
ReplyDeleteThe movie sounds really interesting and I'm going to see if I can find it on Youtube or one of the streaming methods we have.
Wishing you a wonderful day, filled with God's blessings.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

DeleteI like what I see on your new cross stitch project so far. Red is one of my fav. colours. GM
ReplyDeleteThe movie sounds like one I would like.
ReplyDeleteLove the red on your latest cross stitch project.
That movie sounds good. I too have watched several older movies lately. The color red has always been a favorite color for me. I like to pair of black with my reds in clothing a lot. Someone asked me if it was because I was a Georgia Bulldog fan. Truth is, it's not. I just love those colors. I hope you have a wonderful week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
