Hello August

Another hot month and then we'll start looking forward to a few cool fronts moving through.  Here on the Texas coast September will still be a hot month but maybe the mornings and evening will see lower temps and some porch-sitting.

Here's the best way to stay cool . . .

Hazel and Henry in the pool with their dad Matt.

The other morning, I sat on the porch swing for just a few moments while waiting for the coffee to brew. It was lovely to take in the quiet and enjoy the flowers and plants. Even early in the day, though, the heat began to affect my breathing (COPD), so I had to come back inside—by then, the coffee was ready anyway.

As much as I try to get past the heat, August always stirs something in me. It’s the month I start counting down to cooler days, and truth be told, I always get a little over-anxious.

In August, the sun paints the day,
With yellow that brightens our way.
As blessings unfold,
Like marigolds gold,
We walk with the Lord come what may.

🌻 Quote for the season: "The heat of summer may linger, but every golden sunset whispers that cooler days are on their way." — Unknown

🍂 Scripture to welcome the transition: "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." — Ecclesiastes 3:1

🌦️ Gentle verse with a hopeful tone: August hums a quiet tune, Of fading sun and nights anew, Though the days feel heavy still, Cooler winds wait on the hill.

Blessings to All

Until Next Time

  4. What adorable children, your Henry and Hazel! I know we're not supposed to wish Time away, but I'm still feeling happy knowing we've only 31 days 'til September. Granted, that may still be uncomfortably hot, but there's just something about seeing the calendar turn that brings back happy memories.
Thank you for reminding me there's plenty to appreciate this month.
