The other morning, I sat on the porch
swing for just a few moments while waiting for the coffee to brew. It was
lovely to take in the quiet and enjoy the flowers and plants. Even early in the
day, though, the heat began to affect my breathing (COPD), so I had to come
back inside—by then, the coffee was ready anyway.
As much as I try to get past the heat, August always stirs something in me. It’s the month I start counting down to cooler days, and truth be told, I always get a little over-anxious.
🌻 Quote for the season: "The heat of summer may linger,
but every golden sunset whispers that cooler days are on their way." —
Unknown
🍂 Scripture to welcome the transition: "To everything
there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." —
Ecclesiastes 3:1
🌦️ Gentle verse with a hopeful tone: August hums a quiet tune,
Of fading sun and nights anew, Though the days feel heavy still, Cooler
winds wait on the hill.
Blessings to All
Until Next Time

Happy August Betsy♥
DeleteOur summers are so nice where I live that I'm not ready for cold weather yet. Today we had a high of 68 degrees!!
ReplyDelete68 degrees, wow if that were our temps I wouldn't be ready for cold temps either. Although to us, 68 is cold weather!! lol
DeleteWhat adorable children, your Henry and Hazel! I know we're not supposed to wish Time away, but I'm still feeling happy knowing we've only 31 days 'til September. Granted, that may still be uncomfortably hot, but there's just something about seeing the calendar turn that brings back happy memories.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me there's plenty to appreciate this month.
