Somedays I sleep late and some days I'm up before dawn! Just a few mornings ago, I was up at 5 am, a few mornings later I slept until 10am —I seem to swing from one extreme to the other. My sleep schedule definitely leaves a lot to be desired.
It's another early one this morning, I'm enjoying my coffee and saying my prayers. Then it's time to get up and get going . . . where you may ask. I don't know, just going . . .get up and get going.
I’m not sure what’s on the agenda today—probably nothing too exciting. Maybe we’ll get out for a short ride this afternoon. I always enjoy driving around to see what’s going on around our little community. I sure don’t want any changes happening without me knowing about them! ☺
They say there’s a new resort hotel supposed to be going in just down from Sylvan Beach. The land was cleared, and then—bam—everything just stopped. I don’t think there’s been any activity for months. I’d really like to know what’s going on. But I’m not worried—sooner or later, I’ll run into someone who knows. Nosy Rosie, that’s me!
We’re finally shaking off that upper respiratory infection. Feeling much better now, thank the Lord. I think resting, staying in out of the heat, and taking it easy helped it pass quicker than most summer bugs do.
Lunch today will be a homemade burger with ice cream for dessert. It will be another quiet summer day.
My Bible study today is focused on Psalm 27:4—a beautiful, deeply personal verse from King David that truly reveals his heart for God. Here it is:
David
expresses a singular focus—one desire above all others. It’s not riches,
power, or even safety from his enemies. What he longs for most is intimacy
with God. And it’s not just a passing wish—it’s something he actively
pursues. There’s intention and effort: “that will I seek after.” It’s a
life goal, not a fleeting emotion.
“That I
may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life”, refers not just to being in the
physical tabernacle but to living in God’s presence continually. David
longed to abide with God—to live a life rooted in worship, fellowship, and
spiritual communion. "Dwelling" implies security, consistency, and
belonging. As believers, we can "dwell" with God through
prayer, scripture, worship, and a life surrendered to Him—even in the ordinary
moments of each day.
David wants
to gaze upon God's splendor—His holiness, mercy, faithfulness, and love.
This isn’t about physical beauty, but about the awe-inspiring character and
nature of God.
David is seeking
guidance and understanding from God. David saw the Lord not only as beautiful but as wise and
worthy to be consulted.
With wisdom power and love
Our God is an awesome God.
Happy Days and Blessings to All
Until Next Time
Hello Mary, that is a beautiful image and Scripture verse ❤️ I am happy to hear you are feeling better. Yes, resting 😴 and staying away from the heat 🥵 does help a lot. My sleep schedule is similar to yours, especially in the heat.
ReplyDeleteOur God IS an Awesome God!! Amen!! I enjoyed your post, Mary, and am so happy you are feeling so much better!! That nasty respiratory thing stayed with you way too long! I hope you enjoy your little ride this afternoon. Keep us posted about that vacant lot and promised resort!!
ReplyDeleteI love this verse!!! So glad you're feeling better; I remember some of the ugliest colds I'd get would happen in Summer.
ReplyDeleteYou're not the only one who gets nosy, lol. It's disappointing when there's so much to discover and few answers.
I'm also very happy to read that you're feeling better. Summer colds are the worst. My sleep patterns are terrible too. Last night I didn't fall asleep until almost 2:30. Then I slept until after 9:00. I feel like I've lost much of the day when I do that.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to be talking to the Lord throughout the day. I don't know how people survive without that closeness with Him.
Blessings,
Betsy
I know those last 4 lines as a song; I wonder if you do too? We used to sing it in church and I often sang it to my grandson when I babysat him. I wonder if he'd remember that tune.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better. My eyes usually pop open at 6:00 and that's when I get up.
