 Luke 1:46-56

The Song of Mary

46 And Mary said:

“My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is His name.
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with His arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
54 He has helped His servant Israel,
In remembrance of His mercy,
55 As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and to his seed forever.”

56 And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house.

Mary shows she understands that the baby in her womb is God fulfilling another promise to Israel. It is God coming to help Israel and fulfill His Word.

Mary’s song is a beautiful reminder of all that God has done for us and has promised to do for those who follow after Him. It is a new song that burst from the lips of Mary based on what she knew Scripture to say.

You may not have a good voice. You may not have a poetic way of saying things. It doesn’t matter. God made you, and He loves to hear you sing and give praise to His glory. God gave you the wonderful gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. During Christmas, people often ask what to give to the person who has everything. But only God has everything. So what do you give to the God who has everything? You give Him praise. You give Him thanks. That’s what He wants. Learn a lesson from Mary – sing praise and thanks to God this Christmas.

Let’s Talk Snowmen!

“From Flake to Friend”

They tumble from heaven, tiny and quiet, each snowflake a whisper of winter’s grace. No two alike, yet all with purpose — gathering, layering, shaping joy beneath our boots and mittens.

And then, as if by miracle, they become more than frost and fluff. They become snowmen.

Round-bellied and smiling, with scarves flung wide like arms ready for hugs. Coal eyes twinkling, carrot noses pointing toward possibility. Each one a testament to what can happen when small things come together.

Isn’t that how God works?

He takes the scattered, the delicate, the overlooked — and builds something delightful. Something that makes children laugh and grown-ups pause. Something that reminds us: even the coldest days can birth warmth.

"He gives snow like wool; He scatters frost like ashes." — Psalm 147:16

So let the flakes fall. Let them gather. Let them become joy.

Christmas Blessings to All

Until Next Time
