Welcome friends!
This week's Tuesday 4 in memory of our
friend Toni Taddeo is from Mary who blogs at Visits With Mary. and it's all
about the month of May.
Thanks Mary!
You’re welcome Annie!
Hello May
1.
May’s First Glimpse — What is the very first thing you
notice or feel when May arrives each year?
May is a beautiful month, the spring flowers are in full bloom, the sun shines yet it’s not too hot to enjoy being outside. It’s a great month for porch sitting and swing swaying
2. Simple May Joys — What small pleasures
do you look forward to in May — flowers, breezes, routines, or traditions?
I always look forward to pleasant days on the
porch, it's so quiet and peaceful, with pretty flowers and a bird or two stopping by, sitting on the fence waiting for Mr D to load the bird feeders. Some
mornings I have my first sip of morning coffee out there and enjoy being in the presence of the Lord.
As I watch the yard wake up, I feel God whispering,
“Be still — enjoy this.”
3.May Memories —
Do you have a favorite May memory from childhood, family life, or recent years?
A great memory, on Memorial Day weekend,
1972, we moved into our home on Catlett Lane, where we lived for 35 years. I
still miss the warmth there, so full of fun times and sad times and the best of
times.
4.May Intentions — What gentle goals or
hopes do you carry into this new month?
Our quarterly family luncheon is this month;
Tammy and Bo will be hosting in their lovely home.
By Annette Wynne:
If I could stay up late no doubt
I'd catch the buds just bursting out;
And up from every hidden root
Would jump a tiny slender shoot;
I wonder how seeds learn the way,
They always know the very day—
The pretty, happy first of May;
If I could stay up then, no doubt
I'd catch the buds just bursting out.
Annette Wynne
Until Next Time

I would love to sit on your porch with you, Mary!! It always sounds so inviting and peaceful!! Have fun at your quarterly family gathering! What a wonderful time to look forward to!! xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice cheery post! May is a good month. Thanks Mary for the photos and your thoughts on May.
ReplyDeleteYour porch sounds so inviting! The closest I come is parking on one of the concrete steps out back to keep an eye on little Grace.
ReplyDeleteYour old home is so pretty; I do hope the new owners feel the warmth and laughter residing in its bones.
I like the picture of your former home where you lived for 35 years.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll have a lovely family luncheon. Now many folks have a dining room that can easily seat 10 people!!
I love to see/hear about your porch sitting. You have a delightful porch area. Our porch gets too hot for most of the day, so if I go outside at all in the late spring/summer, it is to the Secret Garden area late in the afternoon, as long as there is shade. It's already getting too humid and hot. Oh, I love the picture of your old home. That looks so warm and inviting and happy. I can imagine you have lots of wonderful memories there. I love the idea of the quarterly family dinner. I hope you all have a wonderful time, and that you have a blessed Mother's Day!!! Thank you for the questions this week! I just got mine up and running. (((HUGS))) to you today.
