It came, It destroyed, It Left
One - Two - Three
My heart is broken by the horror this tornado did to my small part of the world.
The Walgreen's where Mr D picked up his meds, just a few days ago.
“In the storms, winds and waves, He whispers, “Fear not, I am with you.”
The nursing home where my Momma lived for 15 years.
The UPS store that we have used numerous times.
The Catholic Church that friends attend.
Draw closer to the Lord with prayer and know that His presence is near. Be still, God will comfort and provide for you. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
This tornado was 1/2 mile wide and was on the ground for 18 miles, it was rated an EF4, with highest wind measured at 140 mph. It was the strongest tornado in this area since 1992.
Thankfully I have heard of no deaths, Thank You Lord for that, only a few minor injuries through it all.
I saw on the news that only 2 dogs were injured at the shelter, that's amazing.
My daughter Tracey saw where a train was derailed at 2 different spots and 18 wheelers laying on their side. She saw this on her way home from work. Thank you Lord that she is safe.
My heart and prayers are with everyone that was involved, their homes and their businesses.
It's so hard to look at it all.
Mr D and I are okay, we had high winds and heavy rain. All of my children and grandchildren are okay and to my knowledge all my friends are okay. I'm so thankful for that.
Brick and mortar went down, but Praise God, people survived.
Heavenly Father
We know that you are with us in every time and place. In all things, you are faithful. But when winds are raging, we may find it hard to hear your voice. When skies are dark, we may struggle to see your face. When all around is chaos, fear and destruction, the peace that you promise seems worlds away.
And yet, we continue to seek you in the morning. Lord, please surround us with the certainty of your loving presence; and remind us that there is hope to be found even in the midst of so much destruction.
In Your Precious Name
Amen
Until Next Time
