Hearts and YoYo's

It's really hard for me to sit with idle hands for too long at a time.  In the early evenings while watching television I look for something to keep my hands busy.

One of the things I like to do is make YoYo's.  A fun way to satisfy idle hands.  I gather all my supplies in this box top, which fits perfectly on my lap, and the stitching begins.

....And what a cute reward for my 'busy hands.'

The hearts have to be done on the sewing machine, so I usually make them in the afternoons.  They are quick and easy.

The YoYo's take a little longer to complete, depending on how many I make.  For this batch I made 12 large, 12 medium and 12 smalls, which took several evenings.

This little cutie pie is my great gdaughter, Emma.
She loves corn on the cob!

Wishing you Happy Days
Until Next Time

  1. Oh, Ms. Mary, those hearts are adorable. Have you seen the yo-yo quilts? But a quilt would take a LOT of evenings....maybe a winter project! HOPE you have an awesome Thursday.

  2. Your yo-yo's and hearts are beautiful, sweet Mary! I like to keep a jar full of yo-yo's for "emergency" crafts and the jar is getting low so you have reminded me to enjoy the quiet of evening and make a few :)

Your granddaughter is precious! Hugs to you!
