God's Grace

One of my favorite old hymns.  God's wonderful grace, where would we be without it?

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can avail to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?

Grace means to get something that you do not deserve; unmerited favor.

Romans 5:1-2
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

God's grace does not come to people who morally out perform others, but to those who admit their failure to perform and who acknowledge their need for a Savior.

  1. Love, love, love this post. GRACE is an awesome word and I just heard a message on it earlier today....."if you hear it twice" it's a confirmation from HIM. I've also seen a cardinal twice today. Think He's trying to remind me of HIS LOVE?!?!? Yep...me, too!!! ;-) HOPE you have a great weekend, sweet Friend!
