Friday Foto Friends

Mr. Hawk is keeping a close eye on my daughter's chickens.  I think he wants one for supper!!

Mr D and I were out for a ride when we saw these beautiful flags.  It was a very windy day and the flags were so pretty just a blowin' in the wind.

We drove down to the ship channel just in time to watch this huge ship go by.  Compare it to the pickups in the picture and you'll get an idea of how big these ships are.

It was a great GLOW meeting on Wednesday, we were blessed with some great sistership and good food.  We had three ladies that couldn't come and they were greatly missed.

Our Menu:
Shrimp Appetizer from Sandy.
Spaghetti from Me!
Garden Salad from Pat.
Texas Garlic Toast from Zephra.
Tea and Ice from Linda
Banana Pudding and Chocolate Covered Strawberries from Arlene!

And of course there was a big pot of coffee!

Looking forward to our study on Ruth which we'll be starting next week.

I'm very disappointed that we've had such a mild winter....there's only been a few really cold days.  Mostly the days have been cool to mild. Spring might as well come on in and let the blooms begin.

It's Friday again and time for

  1. I used to have a hawk come every morning and just sit on one of our fence posts. I've gotten a few good pictures of him. Our fence must just have been a resting place for him because we don't have chickens nor did our neighbors at the time. They are an amazing bird to watch fly...how they glide.

I so enjoyed seeing and hearing about your GLOW meeting. The menu sounds wonderful and looking at the picture of those sweet ladies I can only imagine how special the fellowship was.

I just finished doing a Bible study on Ruth a couple of days ago. The next one I am doing is on Esther. I am excited to start it, too!

I enjoyed, as always, your Friday Foto post!

    Have a wonderful weekend, Mary.

  4. I feel cheated on winter too, Mary. :-( We have a couple of resident hawks and I have never been able to get such a good picture as that one. Poor little chickies. I watch out for my little dog. Great pictures and especially of your ladies. We had a brunch this week and I totally forgot to take pictures. everything was decorated for Valentines, so I was a little bummed about that.

  5. You lunch sounds delicious! That's a really good flag picture. I love seeing flags blowing in the wind. So cool that you live close enough to the water to be able to visit and take pictures like that. Have a great weekend!!

  7. Love the quote about a camera! I'm disappointed with our winter weather here, too. I want snow! Hawks... beautiful birds, but mean! I know it's their nature, but I've seen them swoop down into squirrels nests in our neighborhood. Leave the squirrels alone! 😣 Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great weekend!

  9. It has been a strange winter this year, even in Florida. We have hawks around here occasionally and so I watch Mandy closely when we take a walk. Your GLOW group looks like such a wonderful gathering - not just the food but the friendship and fellowship too. Have a blessed weekend.
