Monday Morning Coffee Chat

I'm late for coffee this morning....

Yes, I'm sick!!  Nasty summer cold has got me down.

Sweet MIL has been moved to a rehab hospital in hopes she'll recover her strength.  I must say, it's not looking too good at this time,  We know God is the Great Physician and we place her in His care.

Today it's time to share my Mother's Day gift from middle daughter, Tammy!  Do you see the beautiful box in the picture, the one with greenery growing from the top?  That is the sweetest little chest, you can put a picture in the attached frame on the front.  I plan to take the plants out and repot them but I need some soil and a new pot and I just haven't had the time to go shopping.

The picture of the girls and I was a gift from all three of the girls, they know how much I love family pictures!

At the MD's luncheon there was a short period of time set aside for the ladies to do crafts.  One of the things was designing your own coffee mug with sharpie pens.  I've been wanting to do this for some time, you can imagine how delighted I was at this opportunity.  I know, it's kinda simple, but you have to realize I'm not an artist!  The mugs need to dry for 72 hours and then baked in the oven to set the ink.  I'm going to work on my artistic abilities and make more!!

Bible Trivia:
Manasseh was the longest reigning king at 55 years
Zimri was the shortest reigning king at 7 days
Joash was the youngest king at 7 years old

Today's Quote:
We need to simply do what we were created to do: love the Lord our God, obey His voice, hold fast to Him.

A Little Laughter:

The Lord is My Shepherd
A Sunday School teacher decided to have her 2 nd grade class memorize Psalm 23, one of the most quoted passages in the Bible. She gave the children a month to learn the chapter.
One little boy was excited about the task, but he just couldn't memorize the Psalm. Although he practiced and practiced, he could hardly get past the first line. The day came for the children to recite Psalm 23 before the congregation. The little boy was nervous. When his turn came, he stepped up to the microphone and proudly said, "The Lord is my Shepherd and that's all I need to know!"

Time for a cough drop and a coricidin!
Hope you're having a great day.

  1. Oh bless your heart Miss Mary. My youngest daughter has battled with a cold too. She said she thinks she has coughed up a lung or two! Now I am afraid the baby is getting it. What a sweet gift from Tammy and the picture is so sweet of you two. Nothing like family pictures and the older I get the more I appreciate them. Your little mug turned out darling. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
