Thankful Thursday

I was porch-sitting not too long ago when I noticed this little chip from one of my pavers laying at my feet.  I picked it up and immediately I was lost in childhood memories.  I remembered always looking for the perfect rock to play Hopscotch!
This was perfect, just the right weight
and look how well it fit my hand.

You do remember hopscotch??
Sure you do!!

So, even in my old age, I decided I wanted to play.
(BTW...you're only as old as you feel, and I felt pretty good.)
I didn't want to go to the front sidewalk, my neighbors may have thought I had lost my mind.  So I drew a small hopscotch right there on the back porch.   By the time I finished that piece of art I didn't know if I had enough energy left to hop on my hopscotch!!

Bitsy Baby and Buddy Boy took off to the back door, they couldn't believe their eyes!!   I managed to make it one time and that was enough for me!

So much fun, I laughed at myself and then I laughed at the dogbabies!

Life can be so much fun.

Lord, thank you for play and fun times.
Thank you for laughter and precious memories that we can relive.
I am so thankful to be able to enjoy the little things in life.
Amen

  5. Mary Jane what a delight. I love when God shares a sweet childhood memory with us. I was going to ask if Mr. D was there to enjoy the memory. And I'm sorry but I have to tell you I thought you'd saved a tortilla chip from Pepe's and were sneak eating so Mr. D didn't know.

  10. I was just wondering if anyone took YOUR picture hopscotching! What fun that would be to see! YOu may have started a new trend here today. I haven't played that since a child. Not sure I could do it either, but it would be fun to try. Thank you for being a fun friend!!!
