Monday Coffee Talk

 Hello Monday!

This past weekend was very special for our family.

Grandson Cody and his precious Priscilla got married.

It was a very small wedding, taking place at the Sycamore Grounds Coffee House where they had their first date.  The best man was Cody's twin brother and their dad married the happy couple making the ceremony more special.

You may now kiss the bride 💋!

Twin brother Jason and his special lady, Hannah!

The Sycamore Grounds is a lovely little coffee house, very cozy and full of atmosphere.

A very good place for a small, romantic wedding.

Wedding Trivia:

The English believe that finding a spider in your wedding dress brings good luck. (Well I hope you don't get bit!)

It's a South African tradition for the parents of the bride and groom to carry fire from their hearths and light a new fire in the hearth of the newlyweds.  (I love this💗)

Swedish brides put a silver coin from her father and a gold coin from her mother in each shoe to make sure that she'll always have enough silver and gold in her new life.

Greek brides tucked a lump of sugar into their wedding gowns, believing this would bring sweetness to the marriage.

Best wishes to Cody and Priscilla, may God bless them with a very long and happy life together.

Until Next Time

  1. Hi Mary! Congratulations on getting a new granddaughter! What a cozy little wedding and such a charming place. I love when couples do weddings differently! My oldest got married behind our little farmhouse, under the carport. Just as the couple kissed, the horses went running by, full speed, almost as if we planned it. Here's to many blessed years to them!

  2. What a "sweet" wedding!! I love that they kept it simple and sweet. They are very wise not to waste a lot of money on a huge wedding, which can be used to help them establish their new home together instead. They are a lovely couple, and how nice Cody's dad was able to perform the ceremony! I love the little list of wedding traditions you added. Never knew about any of those! Fun stuff! Weddings always bring out the fun and happiness and joy in families. Thank you for sharing this with us. May God bless the new couple with much love and joy and peace and happiness!! Amen.
