Simply the Best!
Here is an older Tuesday
4 from Toni with a few changes from Annie.
1. What was the best thing you have ever bought?
My Bible. It's my roadmap, my encourager, my advisor, my comforter, my teacher, my friend, my help, my joy, my guide. It holds the Words of God and always touches my heart. I have several Bibles, some are study Bibles, some are different versions. My personal Bible is a 30-year-old NKJV and showing lots of wear and tear, but it has so many notes and memos I just can't give it up for a new one.
2. What was the best book you have ever read?
The Left Behind series by Tim La Haye and Jerry Jenkins.
3. What is the best trip/vacation/holiday you've ever had?
After I retired, I did some genealogy on our family. We spent many weekends traveling to different old cemeteries looking for tombstones of our relatives from long ago. Because some of the cemeteries were old and overgrown, Mr D would always have the weed eater in the back of the truck. As I would stoop down to take a picture I would tell Mr D not to let any creature/critter bite me on the backside. lol
4. What was the best movie or TV series you've
ever watched?
There have been a few over the years, the most recent was Downton Abbey.
Downton Abbey follows the intertwined lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their household staff on a grand Yorkshire estate in the early 20th century, set against seismic social changes and historic events. Known for its lavish period detail, sharp writing, and a stellar ensemble cast led by Hugh Bonneville and Maggie Smith, it combines upstairs–downstairs drama with romance, intrigue, and historical depth. Acclaimed by critics, it earned multiple Emmys, Golden Globes, and a Guinness World Record for critical acclaim.
Happy
Twos-day

Two
eyes fixed on Jesus,
May double blessings find you today!

I Loved the Left Behind series! Wonderful books!
ReplyDeleteHappy week to you!
hugs
Donna
Happy week back to you, thanks for visiting today.
DeleteI had to grin about your cautioning Mr. D about the possibility of creepy crawlies in the cemetery! What a neat, sentimental journey.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, while visiting her Vermont grandmother, my DIL embarked on a few similar trips. I believe she did tracing(?) on some of her ancestors' stones. I need to ask if she still has them.
Some of those cemeteries were really bad, old and unkempt. It was scary to put your foot down. YIKES!!
DeleteLovely answers and I got a kick out of the trip story!!
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteOh, I mentioned Downton Abbey too. I did enjoy the series, but not so much the final movie. I missed Maggie Smith, I think. Your graveyard trips sound interesting (and a little funny too). And yes, the Bible is the BEST book/purchase/gift/ everything. Where would we be without it as our guide ? We are blessed!!
ReplyDeleteYes we are - blessed !!!
DeleteHappy Twos-day to you too!! We really enjoyed Downton Abbey too.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteWonderful responses. Happy Tuesday to you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday Linda! (I'm late!)
DeleteGreat answers. My favorite tv show is As Time Goes By. My best vacation was a walking one when we took a week and walked coast to coast in England!!
ReplyDeleteI loved As Time Goes By, I tried to never miss it. Your trip to England sounds wonderful, it's the only(besides Israel) foreign country I long to visit.
DeleteLovely answers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday Wishes.
All the best Jan
Thank you, hope you're having a good week.
DeleteI enjoyed the Left Behind series, too. Read it a very long time ago. I probably need to revisit it. When I started working on my family tree, I went looking for old cemeteries and tombstones, too. It was a kind of adventure back then (in the 70s). Now, it's all online and not nearly as adventureous.
ReplyDeleteOnline is convenient, but being there in person is more fun!!
DeleteThe Left Behind series is so good! We still have most of the books. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

Hello Lori, hope you have a nice week too!
DeleteI've read through the Left Behind books three times. I pick up different things each time and have to keep reminding myself that they are fiction. We're not really sure exactly how events will take place but the authors did a great job in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Three times!! WoW. When they first came out I would have to wait a while for the next book to be released, so I got the books on cassette also and would listen to it just before the next book. It refreshed my mind and got me ready for they next book. Yep, cassette, they were still around back then!
DeleteHi Mary, we answered the same about our Bibles and book series. I have never seen Downtown Abbey, but I plan to. We did see the Crown. Have you seen Call the Midwife?
ReplyDeleteI have seen Call the Midwife, and watched it faithfully for a while. I haven't see The Crown but would like to. :-)
