It's a good day to have a good day.

I saw this phrase some time back and it has really stuck with me.  It's short and to the point, just a little group of words with a powerful meaning.

“Have a great day” is a pretty simple statement. It doesn’t contain flowery words or figurative language. However, it can be as powerful as a hug or a pat on the back.

This morning, as all mornings, I came into the kitchen, poured myself a cup of ambition, made it to the table in front of my big window and plopped down.  As the sunshine came pouring through the blinds my first thought was, it's a good day to have a good day.  😍  Thank You Lord!

I've been on a coloring streak lately, spending a lot of hours, coloring, coloring.

It's just part of a good day.

The little mug and saucer were created on the pottery wheel of my granddaughter, Tara.

I must admit, some days I do need an attitude adjustment!

“A great attitude is like a perfect cup of coffee/tea – don’t start your day without it.”

God helps me there, a little prayer is a great adjustment!!

Lord,

I rely on you alone for a better day, I believe you have a better plan for me and that's why I have a positive expectation. All things work together for those that love you, I love you Lord and I rely only on you for a positive result in all I do today.

Amen

Another thing that makes for a great day is laughter.  I love to read funny little stories or quotes, and little funny graphics.

A senior moment . . .

Lord, I tried something new today.  I put on two different earrings ~ but not on purpose.  I never noticed until my granddaughter told me I looked cool.  That made me smile

“I have learned over the years that the nicest thing I can do is to just say to myself is,

“Good Morning Darling, I love you; we're going to have a really great day today.”

Louise Hay

With all this said, I'm wishing you a good day, because it's a good day to have a good day.

Blessings to All

Saturday Sunshine

Oh Country Door, you are my sunshine!

Their merchandise never disappoints.  I'll take one of each please. 😀

Most magazines that come to me I don't even look at, temptation is just too great.  In the trash they go.  Not Country Door, I've ordered from them several times and I've never been disappointed.  The home decor they offer is my style, lots of farmhouse/country.

I've been wanting a new bedspread, I think this one might be the one.  It's light, which is what we like.  I'll be able to use the bedskirt I have now, so that's good.

My curtains are floral, yet I think the color and print will go well.  I'm going to think on it a while.  One thing I dislike about shopping online or by mail order is having to return something.

Saturday Sunshine

The other morning I was sitting at the kitchen table before the sun came up, I was enjoying my coffee, my devotion and time with the Lord.  I started to hear the morning come alive.  I could hear cars going by, neighbors car doors slamming, leaving for work or taking kids to school.  It was barely light, but I went ahead and opened the blinds anyway.  I wanted to enjoy the life around me,

The next time I looked up, the sun was rising and shining over my house on the trees across the street.  The trees shone, almost like a halo around them.  I ran and got my camera and stepped out the front door to get pictures.  You can see the sun shining on those trees but somehow the 'halo' glow isn't showing in the pictures.

There's a dark and a troubled side of life
There's a bright and a sunny side too
Though we meet with the darkness and strife
The sunny side we also may view

The storm and its fury break today
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear
Clouds and storms will in time pass away
The sun again will shine bright and clear

Keep on the sunny side of life
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way
If we keep on the sunny side of life
Let us greet with the song of hope each day

Though the moment be cloudy or fair
Let us trust in our savior always
Who keepeth everyone in his care

Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side
Keep on the sunny side of life
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way
If we keep on the sunny side of life

My roses are enjoying an early morning too!

Until Next Time

Saturday Sunshine

I've been lazy the past few days . . . didn't do much of anything, not even a blog!

WoW, the month of love will be here in a couple of days, seems like January has flown by.  This is a big birthday month for our family.  Five that I'm remembering without checking my little book.  Birthday's and Valentine's Day are so much fun.  It's also the month, February 2015, that the Lord took Momma home.  I miss her, but I'm not sad, she's walking the streets of gold with her Lord and my Daddy.  She was also 100 years old, she lived a good life and she was ready to go home.

We've been having cloudy days lately, almost gloomy sometimes.

But I have some sunshine to share!

Little Miss Hazel Kay all smiles.  She is a ray of sunshine for me.

Merica is out of town, staying with her other granny, Jeana, who happens to be a quilter.  She lets Merica play with her scrap pieces, looks like she has a good pattern going. 😀  I hope she really takes an interest as she get older, Jeana will be a great teacher.  Our little TexasTornado is another ray of sunshine for me.

Saturday Sunshine

“Your thoughts and your perception of the world influences all that you do, and all that you are, and all that you can be. If you see the sunshine, feel the sunshine then you feel good. But if your focus is only on the clouds and the dark sky then you may find yourself a bit gloomy.”
Catherine Pulsifer

Oh, the storm and its fury broke today,
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear.
Clouds and storms will in time pass away.
The sun again will shine bright and clear.

Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life.
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way,
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life.

Suppertime!

 We ate good last night.

Seafood gumbo with rice.

Boudain Balls

Fried Catfish

French Fries

Tossed Salad

Iced Sweet Tea

Sorry I didn't get a picture but I'm sure your imagination will come up with something!

I didn't make it either, the good chef at our local seafood restaurant can take that honor.

Some of you might not know what boudain is....

Boudin is pork sausage made with rice and seasoning usually stuffed into a casing. For boudin balls, you simply remove the casing, roll it into balls, bread them and deep fry them to a perfect crisp. This takes sausage to a whole new level!

I was born in Houston but raised in South Louisiana where you can find the best Boudin.

Did you notice the two different spellings?  Boudain/Boudin

When in South Louisiana it's Boudin!
