Sharing My World

Hello...
Last week was a busy, but good week.
We visited the new church building a few times, there's a lot of renovation happening and we like to keep up with the progress.
I really like this wall, that's Peggy and Jennifer's artwork.  This is in the foyer ~ please excuse the paper taped to the floor, everything is still a work in progress.

Mr D has been looking for some items he needs for the new musical equipment he purchased.  Of course it couldn't be found locally, so we had to go to Houston, thankfully only the outskirts. When I saw we had to go by Mardel's I just had to stop and 'browse.'  Oh dear, browsing can be expensive.
I have only read excerpts from The Circle Maker ~ I'm looking forward to reading the entire book. It was on the sale table for only $5...that's a bargain.  I found a little purse calendar, which I  always need, The Christmas Story on DVD and a new audio book, Angels and Demons.  I am looking forward to reading and listening!  :)

We were at Denney's several times last week.
We enjoy going out for breakfast.
Our grandson Matt is home from school a little early for Thanksgiving break.  We were so blessed when he joined us for breakfast one morning.

Peggy, our youngest daughter, has been so busy overseeing the renovation at church, she didn't want to take the time to cook sweet potatoes for the church's Thanksgiving supper.  She called and asked if I would help her out, well, of course I would!
Enough to feed a crowd.  Out of the oven right before time to get them to the church.  Good and hot!

I also met a new blogger friend.  Her name is Mildred and you can find her here at Cattails!
This is Mildred's header, I love her pretty pictures.  She hurt her foot and while recovering she is not doing a lot of posting, but I know she would love for you to stop by and say hello.

I had a good visit with Momma, who just happens to be 100 years old.
She's doing well, I've noticed she is declining just a bit.  Some dementia, but not too bad.  My goodness, for 100 she's doing great.

I've taken my blog in several directions over the past few years, trying to find my niche among all the talented bloggers out there.  So many pretty blogs ~ décor, crafts, needlework, devotionals, so much to enjoy. Some things I do pretty good, some things not so good, I'm certainly not a professional writer and don't claim to be. One thing I can do well is talk.  I love to visit and that's what I try to do here, visit with you just like you were sitting at my kitchen table ~ sharing a hot cup of coffee, or whatever you like to drink ~ talking about what's happening in our world.  I share a lot of my life because I have found that's what us women do....we like to talk about our children and grandchildren, our hubbies, what's on sale, new recipes and what's going on in the world around us.  We love sharing our faith and the goodness God has done in our lives.  So, when you Visit With Mary, there's always girl talk around the table.

Lastly, I'm sharing these words from a dear facebook friend, Pastor Bob!
There will be more reflection OF Jesus when there is more reflection ON Jesus!

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
    Acts 4:13

 Y'all come back!

  1. Mary, this is such a lovely post. Your mother looks radiant, and 100, wow! Bless her heart! Denny's is something I am unfamiliar with. See, they do have a few outlets in Canada, but none in my area (Montreal). Your grandson looks like a lovely person. And I love sweet potatoes! :)

  2. Your Mom is beautiful...like Mother, like daughter! I love visiting with you, my friend. No matter what you choose to chat about, your heart for God always shines through!

  3. What a nice catch-up. Sweet potatoes like that are among my favorite holiday foods - and I'm always responsible for bringing them to Thanksgiving dinner. And I'm going to reflect on those words about reflection!
