Lazy Day

Here it is almost noon and I'm still in the bedroom.  It's called being lazy 😃

The TV is on and I'm watching the midday news, the blinds are open and I'm watching it rain (oh happy day) and my laptop is open.

Mr D just brought me a fresh cup of coffee, oh so good.  I have no reason not to enjoy my circumstances.

Tammy brought us some of her awesome spaghetti, some cornbread and ice cream to serve on her delicious homemade banana muffins for dessert.  Our meal for today is taken care of and I see no reason to leave the comfort of my lazy day.

And life goes on!

Until Next Time

Just Another Day

Do I want to go outside and enjoy my morning coffee on the porch?

Nah, I think I'll stay in where it's cool . . .

. . . .  and enjoy my house plants.

I've been staying busy this summer working jigsaw puzzles.  I love working them and it gives me something to do.

I've had a puzzle on my puzzle board every day since May 1st.

Ava and Emma enjoy puzzles too!!

Mr D and I are going to be great grandparents again,

 he's due in September!

Hazel is going to be a big sister!

 Holy Ground

When Neil Armstrong (said to be a devout Christian) was visiting the Holy Land, he asked his guide if it was certain that Jesus had walked these very steps up to the Temple Mount. Assured that He must have, Armstrong said, “Then I have to tell you, I am more excited stepping on these stones than I was stepping on the moon.”

Whatever Wednesday!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that.

We saw this enormous flag while out for a ride!

I was saying check out that flag!

Mr D was saying, check out that truck!

Across the street from that house, a sail boat drifting, enjoying being on the water.  Notice all those high power lines and tall cranes in the background, that's one of the unloading docks along the Houston Ship Channel.  It's called it progress, I call it destroying a nice view.  I shouldn't complain, it's brought many jobs to our area, with that said, it's taking away our small town atmosphere.

I've never shared how close we are to Houston, not far at all.  The blue line represents the Houston Ship Channel, you can see it runs right along La Porte.   Lot's of ships pass us by.  This map says Galveston Bay, actually we are inland of Galveston Bay, our area is Sylvan Bay. (Which is a part of Galveston Bay.)

Would you or wouldn't you?
That is the question:

I would certainly taste it, just because I'm curious.  I can't even imagine it being good!

Monday, Monday, so good to me
Monday mornin', it was all I hoped it would be. . .

Another Monday, another day of staying home.

Mr D and I did go for a ride late yesterday afternoon.  Our son rode with us and it was nice to get out for a while.  We went to Dairy Queen for ice cream and drove down to Sylvan Beach and people watched.  Yes, there were people out and about but not near as many as usual.  We sat in the car, talked and listened to the radio.
It was a nice outing.

Our Son cooked dinner for us, a roast in the crockpot with carrots, mushrooms and potatoes.  I don't know what seasonings he used but that roast was delicious and so tender.
Thanks Rusty!

If you've followed my blog for any length of time you know I love music and poems.  I was looking for a poem that might talk to us in today's virus world.  I was looking at poems by Helen Steiner Rice, one of my favorite poets and I wasn't finding exactly what I wanted.  I was on her webpage when I suddenly wasn't....that happens to me often....I think I was led by God because the first poem I saw was perfect and the author is unknown.
The Lor
The Lord’s love and protection
Are never so far,
That he cannot reach us
Wherever we are.
His arm outstretched
Like an eagle’s wing,
Ever hovering with the love
And care he brings.
Enlightened by his strength
And comforting power,
We may rest and be assured
Every day, every hour.

Author Unknown

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Wednesday's Wisdom

Wednesday's Wisdom

Source: Yahoo Images

Faith prepares us not just to enjoy the mountain top experiences, but it also prepares us to endure the valley low moments.

I praise God today for a Faith that works at all times

Inspiration: Gregory Fleck

Life's mountain tops all make for beautiful views, but the valleys of life are where the fruit grows. God never promised to remove the troulbes of life from us, but did promise to make them a little easier when we call on him.

Life is easy, when you're up on the mountain
And you’ve got peace of mind
Like you've never known
But then things change when you're down in the valley
Don’t lose faith for you're never alone

For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley
When things go wrong, He’ll make them right
And the God of the good times, He's still God in the bad times
The God of the day, is still God in the night

Time to get back....I've missed you!!

I'm so happy today, I haven't been able to GLOW since May 10th and today I'm going to GLOW!  Our life has been busy with sweet MIL, she has been having some good days recently so I'm taking the day to go be with dear friends for some good sistership, encouragement, and uplifting!

Last Saturday our daughter Tammy celebrated her birthday with family at Gringos Mexican Restaurant.  There were only 14 of us because some of the family were out of town or working.  I was thrilled to sit by Miss Emma, we had a great time together.

Got lots of hugs and kisses while waiting to be seated.

Ephesians 1:3

Spiritual Blessings

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

Source: Daisybug Facebook Page

We are having rainy days....the rain comes and the sun shines....the rain comes and the sun shines!
That's the cycle here in my part of Texas.

My sweet MIL is still in the hospital,  Mr D goes every day to sit with her for a while.  I haven't been because I'm still coughing and sniffing, sure don't want to give it to her.

May is almost gone and the hot months of summer are ahead.  It's also hurricane season, that always makes me nervous.  We've sit through a few and we've evacuated for a few...it's not fun.

I haven't been to my GLOW meeting in 3 weeks!!!  Oh my, I have missed it.  If the Good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise I'm going tomorrow!

Small Talk Ramblin'

It's just a dreary, rainy, stormy day in the neighborhood.  Guess I'll settle down with a good bible study, a hot cuppa coffee and let the day go by.
Just look at all that drearyness out there!

Or I might work my new Christmas jigsaw puzzle!  Hobby Lobby had them on sale, 50% off, I couldn't resist.

I love to work puzzles!

Looking out my front door kinda looks like a puzzle too!

Tomorrow is GLOW day and we're studying Daniel. It's a great study but you have to really pay attention or you will surely miss something!

Sharing with you from last weeks study.  Something that certainly applies to our world today:

The Bible tells us that all human government, unless it is touched by the spiritual renewal of the Spirit of God, and unless it's leaders are Born Again by the power of God, will ultimately fail.

It is clear that God is working throughout history, sovereignly, to bring to pass His will and His purpose on Earth.

It is not question of what is going to happen in the future, but Who is going to come.
THE KING IS COMING

And one more thing I'd like to share with you today from the 'private blog' for GLOW. Last night I did a little studying and research in Ezekiel, another very deep subjct. Just click HERE !
and read a little bit about the Gog-Magog War.

After watching the news and seeing all that's going on in the Middle East....well, we just need to be aware and we need to be ready.

God knows the time, I certainly do not....

Until Next Time
((hugs)) & blessings
Time for a fresh cup of coffee!!

hmm...puzzle - study - puzzle - study - puzzle - study - BOTH !!

Random Ramblings

The Bible is clear that all people are God’s creation:

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities of powers.  All thing were created through Him and for Him.
Colossians 1:16

And that God loves the entire world:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

But only those who are born again are children of God.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
John 1:12

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
Romans 8:16

Hello everyone, I've been away from my blog for too many days!  Life sometimes has a way of putting so many things in my path that if I'm not careful I stumble!

Our sweet little Buddy Boy had to have his manhood snipped, he's doing okay except for the lampshade collar he is having to wear.  He is scared to death of it....the first night I couldn't get him to lay down, he just stood like a statue.  That broke my heart, so I held him for most of the night.

I am so exited!  Chonda Pierce is coming to town!  She's going to be just down the road at  First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas on October 16th and I have my ticket in hand.    I love her humor....she has had a lot of tragedy in her life and yet she manages to bring laughter to others.  A true woman of God.

The heat is awful and the plants have to be watered every afternoon to stay alive and pretty.  I love being out there, it's a haven from the storms of life.  A place to have one on one time with the Lord.

GLOW meets tomorrow, I always look forward to GLOW days.  A wonderful group of ladies who bless each other beyond measure!

Last week was Crazy Hat Day!  Here is a picture of my dear friend Zephra and I in our crazy hats.

I think I've rambled long enough,  Hope you have a great day!

Until Next Time

Happy Saturday

Morning has broken and Mr. Coffee has spoken!

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof...
It speaks of His greatness, it sings of His love,
and each day at dawning, I lift my heart high
and raise up my eyes to the infinite sky.
I watch the night vanish as a new day is born,
and I hear the birds sing on the wings of the morn.
I see the dew glisten in crystal-like splendor,
while God, with a touch that is gentle and tender,
wraps up the night and tucks it softly away,
and hangs out the sun to herald a new day.
And so I gave thanks and my heart kneels to pray,
"God, keep me and guide me and go with me today."

Be like the birds ~ sing after every storm!

This little ceramic goose has lived at my house for years.  He always makes me happy when I look him because I think he is so cute!  Not long ago Mr D and I went to Roseland Park in Baytown and to our surprise....there were geese gooses everywhere!

They sure don't sing, but they sure do HONK..!!  They acted like they were as excited to see us as we were to see them!  And then the little stinkers started charging the car, I got my window up in a hurry!

We decided they were looking for food.  I suppose most people who visit the park bring crackers or bread to feed them.  We had no idea they were there and had not a crumb with us!
Honk ~ Honk ~ Honk
Feed Me !  Feed Me ! Feed Me !

We have a very quiet, stay at home week-end planned.  We'll water the plants and play with dogs, talk politics, praise God and try to stay cool.  It's so hot outside!

ps...Mr D will talk politics, I just listen and shake my head.

Until Next Time
Hope you have a great week-end.
Don't forget to thank the Good Lord for another day.

It's Not Much, Just a Little Something

My brother, Wayne, and SIL, Cheryl came for a visit last week.  It's always so good to see them.  As they came thru the front door and hugs were exchanged, Cheryl put this little gift in my hand.  She said it's not much just a little something.  Since I haven't put my tree up yet I set it on a shelf where I have looked at it daily....wondering what's in there.
I promised myself I was going to wait until Christmas to open it....I can already see that's not going to be easy.  I have found that, 'it's not much just a little something' gifts are always wonderful, I love them!

I sit rocking at night, watching TV, and I can see it...is it calling me?  I think it is!  I walk by it during the day and my eyes lock onto that pretty little bag....shhh...did I hear it say, 'open now.'

I feel just like a kid, I can't wait!
CHRISTMAS
A wonderful time of year.
Hello in there!

With all that said...With all the activities the season brings...fun and fellowship....giving and receiving....parties....candlelight services...Christmas trees and candy canes...it's all a month long Birthday Party for Jesus.  He is always the guest of honor, it's all to His glory.

“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
Luke 2:14

Until Next Time
