Monday Morning Coffee Chat

Good Morning to a new week!!

Hard to believe July is almost gone, that's exciting to me because that means its one month closer to cooler weather!!

Coffee,
Dark sparkling brew:
Good with donuts,
Pizza, too.

Comfort,
As you touch my lips,
Cozy warmth
With every sip.

Coffee,
Sweet sparkling brew:
What would we ever
Do without you?

(taken from the internet)

Weather:
Mr D and I went to eat yesterday afternoon and passed a marquee that said it was 103*. It is so hot, when you open the door to go outside you feel like you're stepping into an oven.

Family:
Our little Merica is growing, she'll soon be one year old. My, how time flies.
Merica

Bible Trivia:
It is estimated that the earliest biblical work, the first five books written by Moses, dates from around 1450 BC although some believe that the book of Job, written by an unknown Israelite, was written around 1500 BC. The most recent book in the Old Testament is Malachi which was written around 400 BC.

Humor:
You might be Southern Baptist if…

. . . You believe you are supposed to take a covered dish to heaven when you die.

. . . You clapped in church last Sunday and felt guilty about it all week.

. . . You think someone who says "amen" while the Pastor is preaching might be a charismatic.

. . .Being a good ol' Southern Baptist girl I laughed at them all.

Today's Scripture:

Psalm 121:1-2

God the Help of Those Who Seek Him

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

Until Next Time

  2. It was a lovely weekend here in Alabama. There was a hint of fall in the air. Alas it will rain most of the week but on the bright side, we do not have to use our sprinklers.

  4. Ahhh Mary! I needed that cup of coffee :) I so enjoyed this post and can't wait until the weather cools off. This humidity is doing a job on my arthritic knees and hands. Your little Merica is so adorable, God bless her. Have a day of blessings my friend.

  6. Good morning! Just poured myself another cup! LoL...Those Southern Baptist quotes are some of the reason I am no longer a Southern Baptist! I was tired of being the talk of the church because I get excited when I worship the Lord! HeHeHe...I do love me a good Southern Baptist potluck, though!

    Grace & Peace,
    Pam

  7. Love the "You might be a southern Baptist". LOL! Well, I am afraid this old Baptist girl probably gets talked about. Yes, I amen and yes, I raise my hands in praise to our Lord. My daughters has been known to tell me, "Mama, you need to tone it down a little, you are about to start dancing". LOL! I think I am Bapticostal Miss Mary! LOL! A cup of coffee is good anytime with anything too. It's hot here too Miss Mary. I wish cooler weather was headed our way but in Florida....you never know. I have had the AC wide open before on Christmas Day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  9. 103*...oh my goodness! How do you breathe just going from the vehicle to the restaurant? That is stifling hot! (as if I needed to tell you that). Mercia is just so adorable!

  10. It's hot here too but not as hot as 103* F which would be about 39 C. The hot spot in B.C. was 39 yesterday but that was farther North than we are. I know. It doesn't make sense that it would be hotter farther north but the weather doesn't always make sense.
