Thursday's Thought

Anne Frank wrote. . . .

"I want to be useful or bring enjoyment to all people, even those I've never met. I want to go on living even after my death! And that's why I'm so grateful to God for having given me this gift, which I can use to develop myself and to express all that's inside me!"

A young girl wise beyond her years.
She lived and died during a horrific time in history, yet left a legacy of courage, faith and love.

Do you ever wonder about your legacy?

I don't, maybe I should.  Of course I'm thinking of it now!!

Just a thought to ponder!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Until Next Time
Are you pondering yet?

  1. Jackie Kennedy said-to paraphrase-if we mess up raising our children what is the purpose? My legacy the kids and grands-and hopefully the students!! It is how we live our dash-not the birthdate or date of death but the dash-life between the dates!! 1947- Love your blog!

  2. There's a Christian song that goes, "I don't want to leave a legacy, don't care if they remember me. ONLY JESUS." I want to live for Jesus Christ so others can see HIM in me!
    Have a Blessed Day, Mary.

  3. I have no idea what my legacy will be just hope it is positive and that those behind know I loved and tried to live for Jesus, and that I loved my family unconditionally.

  4. Yes, our legacy is living Christ before our family and the world. Being Christ to those who do not know Him will help them see Him through us. Our legacy is here when we share what our blessings are with others, and how we give thanks even in the hard times. Yes, letting others see Jesus in us is the best legacy we can leave.

  5. I recently re read The Diary of Anne Frank...my response to it as an adult was very different than my response as a child. It is so sad that she almost made it but then was discovered. I hope we can all learn from what happened in the Holocaust.

  6. How I wish that The Diary of Anne Frank was required reading in schools.
It's such a mix of hopefulness and sadness.

  7. I wonder if she had any idea what would become of her writing.

  8. Pondering my legacy -- From time to time I hear that someone (not always family) has followed a suggestion or a habit of mine and that always warms my heart. Surprises me, too, that I do have some measure of influence in the lives of others. I think we all do but we just don't always realize it.

You commented on "my staff" in my current blog post. I really like the header in your blog with the sweet teddy bear!

  9. I don't have biological children so I can't leave a legacy like that, but I hope I will be remembered fondly as a good person of faith who loved her family and friends (and cats!). Some say I am a good cook, so maybe there is that.
