Monday, Monday
So good to me
Monday mornin', it was all I hoped it would be
Today's Comment from Christine Caine:
I took a deep breath this morning and reminded myself, the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives in me. Therefore, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I don’t have to rely on my knowledge, strength or wisdom today. I have access to His.
Things have been slow around here, lots of porch sitting going on! I sure don't mind but it doesn't give much to post about.
My new ragged begonia. It's beginning to look better.
I rode with Mr D when he went to the hardware store, of course I stayed in the car while he went in. Where he parked I could see all their plants basking in the sun, when I spotted this one begonia plant. It looked so tired and thirsty.
So when Mr D came out of the store I ask him if he would please go back in and purchase it for me, and he did. He came back to the car and set the plant in the back when he remembered we didn't have any potting soil to repot. Yep, he went back in for a third time to purchase potting soil.
When he was at the register he said the girl looked at him, grinned and said, another $twenty$? Mr D politely told her next time he was leaving his wife at home.
From what he told me they both got a big laugh from that.
I didn't mind, it was kind of funny at the time.
Monday Trivia:
Monday is the only day of the week that is an anagram for single word, that word being ‘dynamo’.
A study in 2011 showed that the average person moans for 34 minutes on a Monday, compared to the 22 minutes on other days.

FYI:
I haven't groaned on a Monday since I retired!

I love this post...and I love that your hubby was so patient and willing to get that plant AND the potting soil for you! I know it will thrive now under your loving care, and because it has a "history" already!! Yes, it seems like we do a lot of just sitting and watching the plants grow. Thankfully we are finally getting some much needed regular rain, and that is helping our plants to grow. Love all your quotes and thoughts today. So good. Oh, you may have a scammer comment above. Have a blessed day anyway.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pamela, scammer is now deleted!!
DeleteLove Chris Caine's quote. It is so very true and pretty wonderful to think about.
ReplyDeleteOh I had a good chuckle that Mr. D might need to leave you home next time! LOL! How sweet of him to do that for you. I have known Marty to sneak off without me to go to ACE because he knows the first place I will go will be to the garden center and with a buggy! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart, your hubby! While waiting at Wal-Mart this morning, I was eye-balling some of their pretty hanging baskets … contemplating a visit to a nearby farmers market. Their produce and plants are a bit pricier than WM, but I like to support ma-and-pop businesses whenever possible.
ReplyDeleteHa! I haven't moaned on a Monday since I retired either! That made me chuckle, actually, and it is Monday! Keep us posted on the begonia! I'm sure it will recover well and be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely man your Mr.D is. I hope your plant thrives in its new environment.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope I don't moan 34 minutes or even 22 minutes any day of the week!
