Gloomy Monday

After a very rainy Sunday, Monday came with only overcast skies and gloomy weather.  I was thankful the rain stopped as we had to go to Baytown for another doctor appointment for Mr D.

So over the bridge we went  . . .

Fred Hartman Bridge

. . . to Baytown and the medical center where I recently spent a week before going to rehab.

Methodist San Jacinto Hospital is a great hospital but I'm not anxious for another visit.

It was late in the afternoon when we finally left for home, we were hungry so we went by Luby's to get a take out supper.  Mr D had their chicken and rice soup which is the Monday special, along with green beans and jalapeno cornbread.  I had the roasted chicken with sweet potatoes and green beans and we each had a piece of pecan pie which we saved to have with our evening coffee.

Last week on one of our rides we drove down Miramar, a street that runs alongside a part of Sylvan Bay.  The water was so blue that day, it usually doesn't get this blue.

  1. We lived in Baytown way back in the 1970's, but it has changed so much. My husband used the Baytown Tunnel to get to and from work back in those pre-bridge days! We still have family in the area.

    1. I remember the tunnel well, it was the only way to Baytown without going through Houston!!

  4. That's sure a beautiful bridge! It sort of resembles the Sunshine Skyway I used to take from my home in St. Pete to visit my mother.

I just noticed on your side bar that you and Mr.D have been married 57 years. On Nov. 30th we celebrated our 57th too. 1963 was a good year.
