Blessings

Recognizing the blessings of God we continually receive . . .

 The nicest thing happened yesterday.

We had to go to Webster for Mr D's doctor appointment.  That's not too far, about 30 minutes down the road.  He was having a chemical stress test which always makes me nervous.  Because of covid I had to wait in the car, which was okay, I had my Kindle with me and I spent the time reading.

I took a break from my book and just happened to look toward the door of the clinic.  I saw a nurse come out, with her mask on, and I immediately wondered where in the world she would be going.

Turns out, she was looking for me!  As she turned toward our car my heart dropped, she approached the car and I was all thumbs trying to hit the right button to lower the window.

Thank You Lord Jesus, everything was okay and she just wanted me to know Mr D was doing great.

Now how nice was that?  I've never had a nurse come out to the car to give an update.  She was so friendly, we talked a little while about this and that, she reassured me again Mr D was okay and she went back to work.

I told how much I appreciated her and thanked her several times.

She was a blessing.

Because Mr D had to fast and not have any morning coffee, as soon as he was done we went to Kelley's for a good meal, a good dessert and a hot cup of coffee.  When we ordered dessert and coffee the waitress ask if we would mind a little extra wait, she wanted to make a fresh pot of coffee for us.  Of course we didn't mind, fresh brewed coffee, oh so good.  I felt blessed.

Smothered steak with side veggies, sweet iced tea, a piece of coconut cream pie (we split one piece) with a fresh brewed cup of coffee.  What a wonderful way to end the day!!

Thanking the Good Lord for the many blessings He gives.

Until Next Time

Count your blessings, count them one by one,

Count your blessings see what God has done.

  3. What a sweet gesture! Still, that would have frightened me, too. Coconut cream pie sounds amazing. Why is it, cold weather always makes me hungrier than usual? LOL.

  7. How lovely to receive TWO blessings in one day. Amazing, isn't it, that small kindnesses can bless us and make an ordinary day into a GREAT one.

  8. Hey, I baked a homemade coconut cream pie this week! It was a spur of the moment decision, and it turned out really good and disappeared really quickly. I may have make another one. so glad Mr. D. did okay for his stress test. sounds like you really did have a blessed day. It is good to stop and count our blessings often. We are usually surprised to see just what the Lord has done!! "Count your blessings, name them one by one...count your many blessings see what God has done!"
