Welcome back to Tuesday 4 where we remember the wonderful memes of our friend Toni Taddeo and hosted by Annie!
A Repeat ~ Just Wondering
1. When was the last time you tried something new?: Just recently. I have always been a bubble bath lady. With my health issues I'm now a shower lady! Mr D bought a new handheld shower head, wow, it took me a while not to get the whole bathroom wet. I've got the hang of it now, greatest thing ever!
2. Who in your family do you compare yourself to?: I look more like my Daddy and his side of the family. I catch myself acting like my Momma, she was a 5'2 pistol of a lady. She was the best cook but I didn't get that part of her. I'll never forget her chasing my two older brothers (big boys) out the door with
To begin 2021 Annie has posted the final Tuesday 4 from Toni, posted on Monday Dec. 9, 2019! Enjoy playing along friends.

her broom. They were laughing and she was swinging. They used to make her so mad, but they loved her and always gave her a big hug and made her laugh too. Just so ya know, my brothers were good guys, they just loved to tease and play jokes on people. Momma didn't always think their jokes were funny. Long ago and far away, they're all in heaven now.
3. What lesson in life did you learn the hard way?: It took me a long time to realize I can't control every situation that comes my way. I've learned to let go and let God. There are times I still struggle with this.
4. What can you do today that you weren't able to do before?: Relax and take it easy. I've always been very active and now not so much. It's been a hard journey accepting that I am limited on activities that I've always done. Still counting my blessings as I learn new ways.
Until Next Time

ReplyDeleteThis is such an important thing to learn. I, too, am still working on it.
Amen to leaving things to God...being a first born, I struggle with being in charge.:)
ReplyDeleteOh my...control! I think most of us struggle with that one.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am with you about control, I need to do more of leaving it to God.
Thank you for sharing today.
Carla
You have touched a lot of our hearts today, Mary. Let go and let God is one of the maxims I have learned along the way....but still find hard!
ReplyDeleteI think you and your brother, George look a lot alike. Remembering that God is in charge would be the best thing for all of us. It would certainly do away with the need to worry. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteYes, I so agree. We have to learn about letting go and letting GOD take control of our lives at a young age or we will be miserable fighting Him all the way through life. God always knows what's best for us. It's just so hard for us to admit. Loved your post. I've always been a shower girl. I have a nice big tub, but it takes too much water to fill it and then it gets cold too fast. Give me a nice long hot shower any day! LOL.
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved the story of your momma chasing your brothers out of the house with a broom. Such fun to hear the old stories...and that one is something I can picture my dad's mom doing! We weren't bad kids, either, but she'd get soooooo mad at us sometimes and we'd just laugh.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of you and your brothers! Yup I am still learning I can't control every situation. I also use the shower with a shower head that I can hand hold when I need to and I have sprayed the ceiling so many times!!
ReplyDeleteDear Mary, Sweet picture of you with your siblings.

Glad you got that worked out. Those are nice to have in the shower. I struggles too with letting go and let God. Love the photos. I agree, it is hard to adjust when our bodies don't want to comply.
ReplyDeleteI just love your 'old' photos, Mary! I still struggle with letting go, too, but it is so freeing to be able to do it. God IS on His throne and He is in control!! Amen!
ReplyDeleteI remember drenching a friend's bathroom while being a house guest. How embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing photos from the past and the one of you and your brothers is so sweet.
Mary,
ReplyDeleteI got a tickle out of your momma chasing the boys with a broom. This reminded me of grandma. When I was little sometimes I'd sleep over at my grandparents and at the time all of my mother's siblings still lived at home. My uncles often spooked me or was doing something to like that and I remember grandma jumping on to them. I don't even think she stood 5' tall and was a bit on the plump side. She was a darlin' woman! Thanks for stirring a distant memory. Have a good evenign!
