Monday's Coffee Talk

A new day, a new week and a hot cuppa coffee!!

“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24. Each day is a rich and precious gift from God, with new grace and new opportunities. Jesus says that we have only this one day, and we must not be anxious for the day tomorrow.

This Day in History

William McKinley
25th President of the United States (1843–1901)

On September 6, 1901, Leon Czolgosz shot President McKinley in the Temple of Music on the grounds of the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo. Eight days later, McKinley succumbed to his wounds and Theodore Roosevelt became President. On October 29, Czolgosz was executed. William McKinley was the third president to be assassinated in a span of thirty-five years.

Around Town

Touched my heart to see our local Gringo's Restaurant set a table in honor and memory of the fallen soldiers in Afghanistan. It was such a tragedy, not just their lives lost, but all the lives lost over there.

Monday Trivia

Monday is the only day of the week that is an anagram for single word, that word being ‘dynamo’. A study in 2011 showed that the average person moans for 34 minutes on a Monday, compared to the 22 minutes on other days. Even if you maintain a steady weight, scientists have found that Monday is the day of the week when you will weigh the most.

Who does these types of studies anyway? 😊😊😊

Today's Quote From Robert Morris

Prayer is not a duty. It’s a privilege. God doesn’t want us to feel like we have to pray. We get to pray. We get to talk with and take our problems and desires to the Creator of the universe!

Family News

We have a new great grandbaby!!  A lot happened while I was away from my blog!!

Please say hello to Miss Adalyn Taylor!

Saturday Merica celebrated her 4th birthday.

She was so happy and excited with each gift she opened.

I guess I've come to the point where you say,

  1. Oh my goodness! Another Great Granddaughter? How blessed you are!!! So many sweet little girls to love!! I know you have some grandsons out there somewhere too, but it seems like the girls are outnumbering the boys! You are so very blessed. Adalyn is beautiful, and so is Merica! I remember when she was born! Time sure is flying by!!! Lots of good stuff here for your Monday Morning coffee talk. I am SO happy you are back with us. Now you are inspiring me to get back to work and do some more writing. I'm being kind of lazy lately. Thank you for being true to Jesus in all you do and say! Love seeing you here again. Have a happy Labor Day!

  2. It is good to see so many businesses honoring the fallen, along with all the flags flying at half-staff...and many before Biden even gave the order. That new grandbaby is just beautiful! And Merica is just cute as a bug! Love your fall look on the blog! This is my favorite season of the year. Hope you have a wonderful week!
