New Thursday 13

Today for Thursday 13 I'm sharing 13 things I love.

You can join in this fun link-up HERE!

 1. Jesus

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Sweetest Name I know.  Fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go.  There's within my heart a melody, Jesus whispers sweet and low, fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still in all of life's ebb and flow.

2. A good book

The Left Behind Series were great!

3. Dogs

Cockers are my favorite breed, even though I have Chihauhau's now.

4. Gospel Music & Old Hymns

I enjoy opening my old Baptist Hymnal and singing those old hymns.

5. Poems

Roses are red.

Violets are blue.

Sugar is sweet

And bloggers are too!

6. Quilts

This little tabletop quilt is my creation!

7. Bible studies

One study that stands out the most for me was a study on Acts given by Doris W. at Second Baptist Church La Ports.  Great teacher, I think I'll always remember that special class.

8. Family photos

I have them everywhere in my home.  I like my family around me.

9. Home Sweet Home

I love our little Bayside Bungalow.

10. Precious memories

Precious memories how they linger, how they ever fill my soul.

11. Pretty dishes

You can never have too many. 😊

12. Visits with family & Friends

Everyday!

13. Swing - I really love to swing

When I was a little girl if there was a swing close by that's where you would find me.  It's still true today, difference is you'll find me on my porch swing.  It's so much safer for this old lady.😀

A poem I memorized as a child:

 The Swing

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
   Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all
   Over the countryside—

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown—
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

So glad you came for a visit today!

Until Next Time

Oh, I love the picture of your front door. Don't think I've ever seen it before!

  4. I enjoyed all of this and getting to know you better. I have photos of family everywhere too but I'm told that it's not proper decorating, they only belong in the bedroom. Not me. My family is in every room except the bathroom!
Love the poem and I was singing along on the songs.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. Oh Yes. I remember being little and reciting that poem as I was madly pumping myself higher and higher. I only knew the first stanza but that was okay. It was a lot of fun. GM

  10. I'm right there with you when it comes to memories, dishes and family photos. Mu house is also filled with photos. They tell our story. And I can't get enough mugs. In fact I just bought another one this weekend! It has Nana written on it and has flowers around the bottom. :)
