OOPS

 Earlier in the year Tammy gifted me with the cutest teacup birdfeeder!

It looked so pretty hanging on the lattice at the end of the porch.  I didn't put any birdseed in it because I wanted it to stay pretty.  I knew if I put it out for the birds it wouldn't take long for it to get ragged.

Imagine my dismay when I opened the back door to see the saucer laying in a flower pot, the one just under where the feeder was hanging.  That was a relief because it kept the saucer from breaking.

The heat had made the glue so soft it couldn't hold anymore.

Tammy said she would re-glue it for me but I think I'll just let it be and add it to my teacup collection, glue and all!

I'll never be able to serve tea/coffee in it but it's pretty to look at anyway.

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain;
Free to all, a healing stream,
Flows from Calvary's mountain.

  1. That is such a pretty cup and saucer and how inventive an idea to hang it. I'm so glad that it found a soft spot to land so it didn't break. I guess this heat is getting to everything!

  4. The teacup and saucer are lovely and will be a nice addition to your collection! What a shame that the glue didn't hold, though. It looked so pretty hanging out there! Happy weekend! xo

  6. That is such a lovely teacup and saucer bird feeder. I have one that I use for a little tiny bird bath instead of a feeder, although mine is sitting upright instead of on the side like yours was. I have had to do some regluing on my pretty glass bird feeder because a squirrel jumped on it and knocked it to the ground. Now I only use safflower seed in it because squirrels don't like it, but the birds do! Anyway, just enjoy your lovely little tea cup in a special spot. It's really pretty!!

  7. I'm so glad the saucer didn't break when it fell. I'm quite sure there's solvent that will remove the glue. GM

  9. An outdoor glue was needed. Glue gun regular glue never holds up.
    Use 2- Part Epoxy. Get it most anywhere.
    I think I'd reglue it and put it back outside! Cute feeder!

  11. What a sweet gift! I love the idea. Maybe you could try again with the suggested glue for outdoors.
