Thursday Tidbits

Here it is, the last day of August and I just want you know, I'm sooooo glad!   September will be hot too but when the 'ber' months start I know cool weather isn't too far away.  I have missed sitting on the porch and my dogbabies have missed it too.  They don't play outside when I'm not out with them, they do their business and come right back in.   We have kept the plants watered but the grass is so parched, not much green left.  Hopefully rain will come soon and give nature the drink she needs to perk up.

Summertime
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich
And your ma is good-lookin'
So hush, little baby
Don't you cry

Our sweet Henry, aka Bubs, is one year old today!

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!

His daddy's birthday is also today, Happy Birthday Matt!

The Birthday Boys!

Sometimes I wonder
What I'm a-gonna do
But there ain't no cure
For the summertime blues

Our dear blogging friend Cindy of Creations By Cindy posted a show and tell and I loved it, so much so I'm going to be a copycat! (See her post HERE.)  I'm not going to show as many items as she did, which was great, I'm just going to show and tell about . . .
Neutrogena shampoo and conditioner.
After I had covid my hair and skin completely changed.  I don't know if it was the disease or the experimental meds I was given, but one of them left me dried up like an old prune.  Not only did I lose a lot of hair during that time, my hair became very dry.  After trying several shampoos and treatments, this product from Neutrogena did the trick.  My hair is now soft and healthy.  It's a great product.

Today's scriptures for my journaling is
1 Chronicles 16:8-11
   Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
 Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
 Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!

Sing to the Lord, do you ever do that?  I sure do!  My problem is I can't carry a tune at all,  so my singing is always when no one is around.  I'll sit in my swing and sing to the Lord, if my neighbors aren't home☺, and I hope by the time my song gets to the Throne of God it has become pleasant to His ears.

My theme for September is Holiness of God, I started a few days early because I finished August early.

Those of you who were in the path of Hurricane Idalia, my prayers are with you.  I've been in those storms, and they can be very scary.

Blessings to All
Until Next Time

  1. Happy Birthday blessings to Matt and Henry! That's NASCAR themed, right? He's absolutely adorable!
    My hair's practically falling out by the handful, so I'm going to give this brand a try. Thanks for the tip!

  2. Happy Birthday to the birthday boys!!!
    I sing hymns all the time - walking - cleaning
    Funny you are waiting for it to get cool to sit on your porch and I'm enjoying the days left before it gets too cold to sit on it. :)
    I'm going to give Neutrogena a try too.

  4. Happy Birthday to Henry and his Dad. How special for them to share a birthday.
    I can't sing either. In church I "pretend" to sing but when alone I trust that the Lord hears my songs of praise to him as beautiful.

  5. Illness of any sort can harm your hair. It can be awful. So glad you found Neutrogena. I use the T Gel for inflamed scalp a few times a month and it does wonders for me. Happy Birthday to the birthday boys!

  6. Loved your post today. Happy Birthday to your boys! Our 45 anniversary is tomorrow. It's hard to believe it's been so long, yet it's hard to remember a time when we weren't together.
    God loves all song to Him. It says to make a "joyful noise" to the Lord. Dennis can't sing either but I believe God loves to hear him raise his voice in song.
    It's supposed to be in the upper 90's here all next week. I sure hope it's cooler in London as AC is rare there.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

    1. I find my plans on the internet then paste them in my spiral journal. I then write a scripture a day, meditating on each of them. It's a great quiet time with the Lord.

  8. When we moved back here to Florida, I had to change my hair and makeup regime/the items I used up north. I also noticed changes after having the illness as well, although I will tell you, I did not get a shot, no thanks. ANYWAYS, what a great idea, I shall hop over to Cindy's. smiles--have a beautiful weekend, Mary and Happy Birthday to Matt and Henry.
