I say, Let's Have a Marvelous Monday!
Tuesday morning I noticed a tree service was clearing the downed trees across the street. I went outside and sit just inside the garage, where I was out of the sun, to watch. It was interesting to see how this group of four men worked together to get the job done.
Took them several hours and when they left the lot was clean and the grass mowed.
Wednesday the insurance adjuster finally came and assessed our damages from the storm, I think we'll come out okay with it all. After he left Mr D ask me out for breakfast, he called it a "date morning." Geez, the old man can still be romantic♥
Yep, I do enjoy my coffee! We had a great time, we drove around for a little while checking out all the clean-ups around town. One of our favorite places to eat finally got power and opened their doors for business once again. So many local businesses have lost income because they were so many days without power. It's good to see our little town coming alive again,
Thursday seemed like a good day to start my new study by Kathie Lee Gifford and Rabbi Jason Sobel,
The God of the How and When.
I watched the first session and it was good. For the most part it was over a lot of things I already know, mostly like an introduction. They did mention Mt. Moriah and it caught my interest. I think I'll do some studying on that.
" You will discover the land of Israel had, and still has, both geographic and spiritual significance. You will learn about the type of agreement or "covenant" that God established with Abraham as it relates to this land and why it was so different from other covenants of the time. You will also follow the course of the promise that God made with Abraham to see how it played out in Israel's history."
Friday, we went to CVS to pick up my meds and then drove by Marvin's (Mr D's brother) to see how he's coming along getting the big tree he lost during the storm cut up and out to the curb for pick-up. His son and friends have been helping him and things are looking good there. It was a huge pecan tree, when it fell it landed between the garage and house, no damage to either building! WoW, thank You Lord. Thumbs up to our city for hiring a disposal service to pick up all the heavy debris left by Beryl. Before we went home, we stopped for seafood, I had fried shrimp and Mr D enjoyed some catfish,
the iced tea was exceptionally good, a very good meal.
Saturday, I spent a lot of time on the porch, just swinging and enjoying being outside. It was 90* a little cool or maybe I should say, less hot, for this time of year, I'm not complaining. The breeze from the bay even had a slight coolness which made it comfortable.
Sunday afternoon we had a f,ew heavy thunderstorms come over, we needed the rain. ♥ I'm sorry to say I wasn't in church, but I was in His Word.
“God
is glorified by a thankful heart.”
Until Next Time
Great post. I love that picture of you...so bright and cheery! I'm so glad that things are getting cleared up after Beryl and that things are going to be okay for you guys. Take care and have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo! How very nice to be taken out on a date!
ReplyDeleteMr D is definitely a keeperπππππ
ReplyDeleteAren't those tree professionals something?! Several years ago, we had to have several cleared at the back of our property and I enjoyed watching them scrambling like well-trained monkeys (lol). What impressed me, before beginning work they all gathered around, took a knee and prayed.
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast 'date' made me smile; that's come to be my favorite meal of the day.
I enjoy watching the tree people take down trees too. :)
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at how efficient the tree guys are. It's a BIG job and so necessary, especially in our hurricane territories. I'm happy to learn your insurance is going to cover your losses. Your Mr. D is sure a keeper!! Have a blessed week!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a fairly busy week. And a date too! I'm glad your insurance will be helping you out after the storm.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
