Tuesday 4

Hello!  Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 hosted by Annie from Cottage By The Sea.

Relaxing

Do you keep busy all the time?  Many people don't take time to smell the roses. What about you?

1. When was the last time you sat down and  relaxed  and allowed the weight of the world to melt away?
With my health issues I do a lot of sitting and trying to relax.  As for the weight of the world, not so much.  My body might be inactive but my mind seems to run in overtime.  Thankfully I have a Father that holds me by His righteous right hand.♥

2. what things do you find most relaxing ?  How often do you get to do these things?
I have several hobbies/activities that I like, they keep me "balanced."  Because I don't like to sit idle I've always got something I can do to keep me busy.  I love jigsaw puzzels, crossword puzzles, cross stitch, journaling, reading, Bible studies, and watching The Price is Right.  I manage to keep busy most of the time, which keeps me in a relaxed frame of mind.

3.  What things wind you up and keep you from relaxing?
I guess that would be Mr D's and my health issues. We both deal with health problems and I worry about it.  I know, why do I worry?  God has showed Himself to both of us so many times, I know we're in His care, still that little stinker called 'worry' shows it's ugly head.  With the full armor of God I keep fighting it off.

4. When was the last time you treated yourself to something, anything that is special?
I guess I might think different from most, but the simple things in life are a treat for me.  I love to watch the birds around the feeder, the squirrels scampering here and there, the clouds in the sky and the sky too.  Flowers, family, friends . . . all special things to me.  Coffee with Mr D on the porch or at the kitchen table . . . yes, simple is my treat and I enjoy them everyday.♥

A big THANK YOU to Annie for hosting.♥

There’s a blessed time that’s coming, coming soon, coming soon,
It may be evening, morning or at noon,
The wedding of the bride, united with the Groom,
We shall see the King when He comes.

Until Next Time

  1. I love this post. I agree with you 100% on the small things being the best. I too love watching the birds and squirrels and looking at the skies both day and night. Everytime I take the dog out I am always looking up. One of these days I'm going to trip over her if I'm not careful. lol Have a blessed day Mary.

  3. OH yes! It's the small things that bring the most joy in our days. I agree with you 100%. I love seeing you with your GLOW friends too. That is a real blessing. Although we have a nice ladies' Bible study here and other activities, I miss the close camaraderie I had with ladies in a small group like that. I sometimes wish I hadn't left them behind when we moved here. But God knows best and He blesses us in other ways. You and our blogging friends are one of those special blessings that I look forward to each day! Thank you for being my friend!

  4. How I can relate to fretting about health issues -- both his and hers. My heart knows that's wrong, but my stubborn mind goes all over the place -- especially in the middle of the night.
Your answer to #4 is perfect! Too often I think of a treat as someTHING out 'there' and forget to count what's already here.

  8. Small things are definitely the best! I love being in my recliner with my knitting, Zoey on my lap, a big cup of hot chocolate and Dennis next to me.
I, too, am a worrier. Especially about the kids and health things so I can relate to you in that too.
I miss our small Bible study group ifrom Spokane n person. We still meet by ZOOM, but it's not the same as getting our hugs every week.
Love your last words. I'm waiting for the sound of the trumpet blast. I can't wait to be home with Jesus.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. My GLOW group tried ZOOM during the covid episode, but we didn't do well with it. It's just not the same. Yes, I listen for the trumpet every day.☺♥

  10. Hi Mary, I enjoyed my visit here today. I think as we get older, we appreciate the simple things. Health is a big issue to me too. I like the verse about the wedding supper with the King!

  11. I agree...the simple things are treats. I love that little cross stitch piece! I don't think I have the patience for cross stitch anymore, but I do like stamped embroidery.
