Tuesday 4

 Winter Musings

 Hello and welcome once again to Toni's Tuesday 4, hosted by Annie!  Join in the fun by clicking HERE!

1. Do you find yourself a bit more lazy or tired as the nights get longer or does it not seem to do much to you? In general how are you doing this winter?

Once I'm used to it I'm okay.  I wish DST would go away.  I'm doing okay, Mr D and I are still trying to overcome whatever it is we have.  I'm happy to report we are much better, just still a lingering cough.

2. Do you appreciate the extra hours of dark that allow for more sleep, more leisure, less travel and hurry or not?

No, I don't like the extra hours of darkness,
 it makes me feel like a bear in hibernation.

3. I know I love a hot drink on a chilly evening and the quiet of the streets outside as people stay inside more on cold nights. I feel more relaxed in the winter. How about you?

I enjoy the winter, of course we don't have hard winters here on the Texas coast.  On occasion there will be a super cold front that brings freezing temps, but as a rule we don't get snow and ice.

I love a cup of hot tea on a chilly winter night.

4. Do you ever gaze out of your window like Miss Kitty in the picture just watching the world go by? How do you find yourself relaxing on a chilly evening?

I do that more than I like, not because of the cold winter days but because of my health. {{sigh}} I'm so glad I have a Friend that encourages me daily. His name is Jesus♥

 What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer!

 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer!

Prayers for all in the path of the California fires.  Words can't express the hurt in my heart over that situation.

Blessings to All

Until Next Time

  1. What a Friend We Have in Jesus has such beautiful words. How do people that don't know Him survive in this world?

  2. I'm so glad you and Mr. D continue to recover. Now retired, I actually love the shorter, darker days. Like anything else, however, I'm sure that would grow weary. Our Lord sure knew what He was doing when He created all four seasons.

  3. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. I've been praying for you. The fires are awful. My heart hurts for the people there. I like the lighter and longer daylight hours too.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  4. I'm so glad to hear that you and Mr. D. are starting to get better. I know this bug that is going around has been brutal. Hopefully warmer weather and sunshine will help drive it away. I know it is difficult to get out and enjoy much when it's so cold and dreary and dark so early and you don't feel well either. I pray better days are ahead for you and that you will get to go to your GLOW gathering when it happens. Praying!!! What a Friend we have in Jesus...Oh Yes!! He is the BEST friend ever!!

  7. I'm with you. I don't care much for the added hours of darkness. I'm just waiting for Spring.
