I can't even express the hurt that is in my heart.  A very tragic event has happened in my wonderful state of Texas and I'm calling all prayer warriors to pray.

PRAYER REQUEST!

At least 27 people are dead in Texas floods as the search continues for the missing

KERRVILLE, Texas (AP) — Scores of rescuers were searching Saturday for children from a girls’ camp and many others who were still missing after a wall of water rushed down a river in the Texas Hill Country during a powerful storm that killed at least 27 people, officials said. Among the dead were nine children.

The destructive fast-moving waters along the Guadalupe River rose 26 feet (8 meters) in just 45 minutes before dawn Friday, washing away homes and vehicles. The danger was not over as more heavy rains were expected Saturday and flash flood warnings and watches remained in effect for parts of central Texas.

Camp Mystic, a 99-year-old Christian summer camp for girls in Texas Hill Country, was hosting 750 children this week when catastrophic flooding struck the Guadalupe River in the early morning hours of July 4th, leaving at least 20 children missing.

(Deeply grateful for your prayers!)

State Officials have confirmed 13 of the girls from Camp Mystic have passed away. Ages 7-10 years old . There are at least 20 remaining unaccounted for and still missing from this tragic flood. Our condolences and prayers to the families of those lost.

Another plea for your prayers.

In the midst of such heartbreaking loss and devastation across Texas, especially with the tragedy at Camp Mystic, words can feel small—but scripture has a way of holding us when nothing else can.

 Isaiah 43:2

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.”

This verse reminds us that even in the most overwhelming floods, literal or emotional, God’s presence remains steady and unshakable.

In these sorrowful days, as families grieve and search for healing, may we cling to the promise that we are not alone. The waters may rise, but so does our faith. I trust that God’s love flows deeper than any flood. May His peace surround every heart aching in Texas today.

Until Next Time

Mary

  7. Oh Mary! I've not been able to make myself stop picking up my phone every little bit to see what progress, if any, has been made. Those girls' faces, so full of joy and innocence rip my heartstrings. I've been praying ever since we heard the news, including for those tasked with their search and recovery. I can't even imagine what they are feeling; made of sterner stuff than me, that's for sure. God be with them!
