Monday Coffee Talk

7/26

This morning found me Bible journaling at the kitchen table, right in front of that big window I love. The sunlight was pouring in like it had something to say, and my mug of coffee was close at hand.

As I sit there of course my eyes wondered to the street outside and all the people coming and going.  I’m sure they have places to be and people to see. As for me, I hope to take a trip to the porch and enjoy my coffee. Some folks chase excitement; I chase quiet moments and good thoughts.

We treated ourselves to a late breakfast at Denny’s, which is always a nice little outing. The weather was so pretty that when we got home, we sat on the porch awhile. Mr. D has been hard at work—cleaning flower beds, pruning what needed pruning, and getting the porch cleaned up so we can enjoy spending time outside. We’ll be putting out new plants in a few weeks, and I’m already imagining how pretty the new blooms will be.

Rusty’s home, and we’ve enjoyed catching up with him. I think he enjoyed catching up with us too—though he might deny it if anyone asks.

As for me, I’ve been dragging a bit lately. Honestly, I think my get up and go… well… got up and left. If you see it wandering around somewhere, please send it home.😀

I had an appointment with my pulmonologist, and he said I’m “holding my own.” Now, that may not sound like much to some folks, but to me it sounds like a hallelujah. Not worse is a blessing. He did add another inhaler for me to use as needed. I don’t love that it makes me shaky for a little while—feels like my insides are trying to do the jitterbug—but if it helps me breathe, I’ll take it.

And life goes on… quietly, steadily, and under the faithful watch of the One who never leaves us.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Psalm 73:26

In quietness and trust is your strength.”

Isaiah 30:15

Some days are big and exciting. Some days are small and ordinary. But every day is held in His hands—and that’s enough for me.

Until Next Time
