What's Your Name

What’s Your Name?

I have been known by many.

 I'm

Mary to my family.

Sister - sometimes from my Daddy

Mrs. Hutchins – after I married

Mary Jane – that’s what most people called me when I worked.

MJ – a co-worker constantly used that

Jane Mary – one of my bosses at work. He was funny.

Momma – my children

Aunt Mary – nieces and nephews

Granny – all my grands

My maiden name is Killough – kill low

But for some reason so many people would pronounce it Kellogg, like post toasties.  In fact, a good friend from high school signed my annual, K E Double L, O Double Good. Kellogg’s best to you.

Anybody remember that commercial jingle?

One of my dearest friends calls me Sister Mary.

Lots of the younger generation call me Miss Mary.

Mr D calls me Honey.

But most important of all . . .

Jesus calls me 'My Child'.

Until Next Time

  1. OH, I love the picture of you and Jesus! That's the best one of all, and to know Him as our dear Savior, Lord, Abba Father, our friend. I love that He knows my name, and He knows everything about me and still loves me enough to die for me. I enjoyed your post. My name is Pam, Pamela, Pammy (to my parents), Mom, Aunt Pam, Grandma, or Pamela Anne Mursch to my mother when I was in trouble. I do remember the Kellogg commercial. My maiden last name of Mursch got changed to "Mush" sometimes. I am Mrs. Steiner, Pam Steiner, Pamela Mursch Steiner. I'm just me. Yes, a daughter of the King of kings...Praise God!

  10. Hi Mary, I really enjoyed reading your post and enjoyed that picture of you with Jesus! I need to try that out. My Bible journaling went over names were are called and one of them was friend of Jesus. I played a song called He Calls Me Friends by Phillips, Craig and Dean. You are also a blog friend to many!

  11. Reminds me of one of my favorite hymns..."Jesus, Jesus, Jesus....there's just something about that name!" My full name is Deborah. I'm called Debbie. My mom calls me Deb. My husband calls me baby. My kids call me "mom." My DIL's and babies call me MILLIE. My sisters call me "Sissy." Jesus calls me his child, which has been the sweetest gift of all :)

  12. What a beautiful, heartwarming post! Reading through all of your names truly shows what a rich, loved life you have built. Each name is like a little badge of honor for the different roles you’ve played and the people whose lives you’ve touched.
