Grace

John 3. 14-21
For it is by grace that you are saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves it is a gift from God, not by works so that no one can boast. For we are Gods workmanship created is Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Kindness; favor
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by GRACE ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his GRACE in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:4-9

Grace is undeserved mercy.
James Scudder

Grace finds us in our poverty
and resents us with the gift of an inheritance
we didn't deserve...the gift of grace.

Extravagant Grace (2000)

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
grace, grace, God’s grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin!

Hello Fall

A body of straw, a flannel shirt
And a pair of jeans covered in dirt.
I stand for hours under the sun
And fight a war without a gun.

To protect the seed and watch it grow
That's my purpose, it's all I know.
By the corn and wheat I have my place.
I don't run or walk, I won't give chase.

Upon my post in a farmers stance
I wait for them to take their chance
To swoop down below and steal some crop
See my shadow and let it drop.

I the scarecrow scare crows.

Hope everyone has a very blessed first day of Fall.

His Whisper

My dear friend, Zee, shared this on facebook a few days ago.  It touched my heart, maybe it will touch yours  too!

HIS WHISPER....¸♡¸.•´¯`•.•˚༺

It is gentle and soft—almost airy
With a message designed for my ears only;
It drips with sweetness, draws my spirit close,
And protects the trust that experience knows.
It is hushed and tranquil and floats on the breeze
And the love that it carries buckles my knees,
And reminds me that I'm His priceless treasure
By promising a love that will not be severed.

Behind it He hides, until I am still
And eager and anxious in both soul and will.
It drifts on the air until reaching my heart,
And it speaks softly, "How precious thou art."

It seduces my senses as I draw near to listen
And quiets the world's roaring insistence.
Earthquakes and fires may light up the sky,
But, alas, His whisper will gently pass by.

It's a Rainy Day

Looking out my front door and this is what I see...yukky weather.

What does a girl,
(okay, I confess, an older woman)
do on a cold, rainy day?

Cross stitch of course!
So pleasant to sit here stitching and listening to the rain fall.
Bitsy Baby is curled up on the ottoman in front of me, all snuggled up in my afghan.
It's a cozy, cozy day.

One stitch, two stitch...snip, snip, snip!

I follow Anne Graham Lotz on facebook and look forward each day to enjoying her messages.

With our country and the world in such turmoil, this small message, of few words, comforted my heart.

Anne Graham Lotz
We can trust God with our fears and with our future, with our tears and with our troubles, with our health and with our homes, with our grief and with our guilt.

Trusting God with our fears and our future.  I love that statement.

~ TRUST ~

That's what keeps me going.

That's what keeps me happy.

That's what keeps peace in my heart through the turmoil.

Those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Psalm 9:10

Until Next Time
We can trust God for everything.

Faith

Years ago, Timex had a slogan about their watches:

“Timex…takes a licking and keeps on ticking.”

The idea was simply that no matter what you did to a Timex watch, it would keep working. If I remember correctly, they even had a commercial that showed a barren wasteland after a nuclear explosion. Lying on the ground was a Timex watch…ticking away!

Faith is a lot like that…it takes a licking and keeps on ticking!  There are so many things that try to disrupt our faith.

Satan hates our faith. Why? Because foundational to his fall from heaven is the idea that he lost faith in his creator.

What amazes me is this: He pushes us…and often tries our faith…and most often pushes us right into the arms of God. He can’t seem to be able to control himself…and the result is that we grow in faith.

From a sermon by Jerry Vargo,
Pentecostal Pastor of Calvary Christian Chapel.

Charles Spurgeon ask the question, "What is faith?"
His answer, "It is made up of three things...
knowledge ~ belief ~ trust."

Knowledge comes for studying God's Word.
Belief comes from knowing God's Word.
Trust comes from the knowing and believing God's Word.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
John 6:35

Going For a Ride in a Spaceship!

Not much time for a post today!  I'm going to have an MRI ~  boo hiss ~ I don't want to go!  They don't hurt, I just feel like I'm on a space ship and I'm always anxious to get out of that thing to see where I've landed.

I'm okay, just a test the doctor ordered...you know how those doctors are.  :-)

Since time is an issue, I'm going to share a tag I did some time ago, I think it's a wonderful reminder of the season we're entering.  Wonderful times with family and friends.

As the season becomes busier and busier, don't forget to stop and give thanks to the One who provides all our needs.  Remember to invite Him to your gatherings with family and friends, He would love to share these times with you.

I love this quote from my dear facebook friend:

We don't need to see the way if we are following the One who is the Way!
(John 14:6)
