Tuesday's Truth

7 Things That Happen When We Pray

1.
Prayer has the amazing power of making your world slow down. When life is moving to fast, spend some time in prayer. The reflection will always help!

2.
Prayer has the amazing power of making your world slow down. When life is moving to fast, spend some time in prayer. The reflection will always help!

3.
Praying for others, especially in their presence, can be an amazing encouragement. They will know your love as well as the love of God!

4.
Praying about your troubles will ease your load! God is eager to take on your burden and love you the entire way!

5.
When you pray you are joining with all Christians past and present, lifting your voices to God in perfect harmony!

6.
Praying to God is an act of worship. In prayer you are praising Him for all that He has done and is yet to do. Praise God!

7.
Every time you pray, God is listening. Think about how amazing that is! God has the power to transform your life from the inside out through prayer.

Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Jeremiah 29:12
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Hope you're having a Terrific Tuesday

Life Is So Good

I hope everyone is enjoying this Terrific Tuesday!  I was browsing through What Happens When Women Say Yes to God  by Lysa TerKeurst and this caught my eye.

I've heard it said that life would not be so hard if it weren't so daily.  Yet the Bible says that each day is a gift from God that we should rejoice in. . .

Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Daily adventures with God will add an excitement to your life that will change your whole perspective.  No longer is your day just one humdrum task after another, but rather a string of divine appointments and hidden treasures to be discovered.

Seeing life like this opens up God's storehouse of joy.

I have to tell you I was feeling very humdrum this morning...maybe a little bored and maybe a little lost.  I don't know why I was feeling that way.  It was a busy morning, I did my online Bible Study with the ladies from church, I worked on my jigsaw puzzle for a little while, did some cleaning in the kitchen, played with the dogbabies, had coffee with Mr D and sat outside on the porch and talked to God.

Now why was I feeling some discontent?

Maybe Satan threw a dart, he can't stand for things to be pleasant.

Anyway, here I am blogging and keeping busy, life is so good.

Thank You Jesus!!

Double Blessing Tuesday!

A sip of coffee,
Pause to Pray,
Thank You Lord for this beautiful day!

Tuesday is a special day.
In the Bible, God blesses each day and on Tuesday God gives a Double Blessing.

So expect a blessing each day and on Tuesday expect a double blessing.

I have studied God's Word for many years and I have listened to many sermons, never have I heard of Double Blessing Tuesday until I was doing research for this post. I learned that Jewish weddings are planned on Tuesdays because it's a day of double blessings!

You will find when you read in Genesis that God would create, declare those things “good” aka bless those things and then conclude the day.

This declaration of "good" happened on the first day (Sunday) of course.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Genesis 1:4-5

On the second day (Monday) however, God does not declare anything "good".

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Genesis 1:6-8

So again, nothing is declared good on the second day

God makes up for the lack of any blessings or declarations of "good" on the second day, by declaring two things "good" on the third day (Tuesday).

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

And God called the dry [land] Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

1st declaration of "good"

And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

2nd declaration of "good"

And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Genesis 1:9-10 & 12-13

Since God declared that what he had created was "good" 2 times on the third day (Tuesday), to the Jewish people the third day came to be known as the “Day of Double Blessing”

I've always believed that Sunday was the seventh day, a day of rest.  That would make Tuesday the second day not the third.

What's important is God did create heaven and earth and every living thing.   He showers us with blessings each and every day.  If Tuesday brings a double blessing I'll sure take it!!

Talking About Love!

We are talking about true love for all mankind.

We are talking about God's love for us!

His love is....

....unmerited

1st John 4: 11
Beloved, if God so loved us,
we ought also to love one another.

....unsought

Romans 5: 8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

....universal

John 3: 16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

....unbounded

Ephesians 2: 4
But God, who is rich in mercy,
because of His great love with which He loved us,

....unknown

Ephesians 3: 19
And to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge;
that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

....unbroken

Romans 8: 39
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

....our protection

Romans 8: 31
What shall we then say to these things?
If God be for us, who can be against us?

....unending

Jeremiah 31: 3
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

The plaque in the picture was a Mother's Day gift from my youngest daughter, Peggy!

I've sure have missed all of you and hope to catch up on my visits today.

Sweet MIL is still in the hospital.  She is better than she was but not as well as she should be.   Please remember her in your prayers.

Courage

I don't think I have much courage anymore.  There was a day, long ago and far away, when I faced life's challenges head on, always ready to fight the battles that came my way.

We all have battles...some small, some not so small.  It takes courage to overcome and move on.

As I've grown older, I've entered the 'I don't, I won't, I can't' season of my life.

I don't want to face this,

I won't do this,

I can't handle this,

I don't want to think about this...

Get the picture?

But God with all His Glory gives us the courage we need to change...

I don't to I do,

I can't to I can,

I won't to I will.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

Wait on the Lord;
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Psalm 27:14

The Lord knew we would have seasons where we would need His strength to handle things that come our way, things we feel so helpless to handle.  He gave us so many scriptures to bury in our heart, scriptures that let us know,  through Him we can overcome the world.

When we turn to God we find our courage.

Thank You Lord

Until Next Time
Because He Lives
We can and we will face tomorrow!

Tuesday's Truth

Commit your ways to the Lord, and trust Him continually to take care of your now, and your future! God has an awesome plan for your life that is out of this world! Don't sweat what you don't yet see. God is still working on your behalf, and still perfecting all that concerns you! What you don't yet see, is on the way!

Until Next Time
The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.

Tuesday's Trutha

Just a thought for this day. Remember WHO is in control and fear not. Where we have been and where we are is not where we are headed! These are the days that we must raise our eyes to the horizon and look for His coming Glory!

Be Blessed!
Gregory L. Fleck

2 Chronicles 7:14
..if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

My friend Gail posted this on her facebook page, she say's it so well I wanted to share with you.  I couldn't have said it better and I so agree with her.

This is probably the most important presidential election in my entire life....and I honestly wonder if it will do any good which way I voted..Part of me has such a sinking feeling and that after tomorrow our country will continue to go to Hell in a handbag....Hillary's handbag...I can only pray to my God that HE will take our country back. My grandchildren will never enjoy the freedoms I have had in my many decades of life and My heart weeps for them. I do believe in miracles and am praying for one tomorrow...(today)

God bless America, land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless America,
My home sweet home.

Until Next Time

Tuesday's Truth

Photo taken by my great-niece.

Tuesday's Truth; Almost There!

Lot's wife almost made it when suddenly she looked back. Her body was going in the right direction but her heart was still in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Your heart will determine whether you make it or not.Keep your heart towards God and you will make it.

You are almost there!

The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
