Hello September

I'm so happy that September is here, it's the beginning of a wonderful time of year.  Cooler weather will be here soon and football is in the air.  I hear the high school band practicing every afternoon and I'm spending more time on the porch.
I'm going to wait closer to October to decorate the house for fall.  Even though the calendar says fall, where I live the temps still say summer.

September Trivia

SEPTEMBER BIRTHSTONE
Sapphire

September’s birthstone is the sapphire—a precious gem of wisdom, loyalty and nobility. This stone is said to focus the mind and encourage self-discipline.

When people say “sapphire,” they’re usually referring to the royal blue variety of this gem, although it can occur in all colors of the rainbow (except red, which is classified as ruby instead).

This lovely gem gives September-born babies a full spectrum of options when choosing the shade of birthstone that best represents them.

SEPTEMBER FLOWER
Aster/Morning Glory
These flowers represents patience, daintiness, and remembrance.   It conveys deep emotional love and remembrance.

💥  💥  💥

According to the Georgian calendar September is the ninth month, but on the Roman calendar it was the seventh month.  September has had 29 days and 31 days, but since the time of the emperor Augustus, it has had only 30 days.

September is one of the warmest months in the Southern United States. ((Yikes))

Northern states have warm September days, but the nights get much cooler. It is also harvest time for crops. And, in Switzerland, it's called Harvest Month.

"By all these lovely tokens September days are here
With summer's best of weather and autumn's best of cheer."
-unknown

There are lots of days dedicated to fun activities in September.

Look out for these days.

September 5th:
National Cheese Pizza Day

September 9th:
National Teddy Bear Day

September 16th:
 National Play-Doh Day

September 19th:
International "Talk Like A Pirate Day"

And last of all....
The 9/11 Cross

We will never forget.

Until Next Time
Happy September

September is a great month. Reminds me of Autumn in NY by Frank Sinatra.

  4. September is my favorite month, as it is my birth month, and yes, I love sapphire blue. I have several different kinds of jewelry with sapphires, but I only wear one ring that hubby gave me several years ago, and it is so dark it looks more like black...it looks like Princess Diana's ring that I think Kate wears now. I am thinking about changing my door wreath to a fall wreath soon, then little by little I will start decorating for fall. I love fall. It is still warm here in Florida too, but I can't wait for it to cool down to decorate, or I'd never decorate! LOL. Love hearing football/band practice...but we are too far from it here. Love that sound, however. Happy September!!
